Vijay Appreciation thread.

Vijay is taking his eyes off the ball everytime the ball is bouncing. That is a big concern. His temperament has improved a lot but his technique against the short ball is perhaps the worst among the batsmen in this team. He needs to work really hard on this aspect.

But yes doubts but then dobuts against any new batsman until they also prove overseas. Same goes for Pujara. But same doubts were also there for dravid, laxman, sehwag, gambhir and they shoved those doubts were the sun dont shine Indian bats can play overseas and have done for over decade now. Just last couple of years the ageing stars carried on to long. I have hoped for all the new bats in SA

4-5 tests, 7-8 ODI's, 5-6 T20's later Vijay is yet to score 50 overseas... Hopeless. Even sucked in the two warm up games in England. But his excellent home test record means he should be Home series specialist opener in tests for India.

Intersting innings for vijay. Lots of people doubt wether can deliver overseas and SA tour. Yet was awesome in Aus home series. Looking good here on track with some zip. If he does well here, will maybe show that can deliver on overseas tracks as this track has something in it for bowlers

If we have 7 batsmen+Ashwin+Bhuvi we can put up some good scores. After that it's up to the bowlers.

Vijay looked good against pace today on a pitch with zip and bounce. Looked very comfotable which bodes well for SA. Pujara also looked against pace today, with both showing good backfoot play But looked suspect against shilligford the spinner
