Ball hitting the stumps without dislodging the bails

Bails have to longer to keep stumps far apart? Once there was run-out situation in which one end of the bail was in air and other end remained on the stump. Later the bail fell back at its original position. Commies were saying that bails have to be dislodged completely, so that batsman was not out.
Yeah, that's pretty normal. The third umpire always looks at the frame where the bails are completely dislodged - at least one of them.

Ahh okay. That's an area of ambiguity in the laws. Because you are run out even if the bails are completely dislodged for a moment but you are not bowled even if they are and fall back in place.

99.6 Wagner to Prior, no run, wow, Prior has hopped and fended this brute of a short ball off the handle, onto the helmet, into the ground and onto the stumps, New Zealand have started to celebrate but but the bails have't come off

In one of our umpteen games against Lanka, the stumps were almost set in concrete. One of Zaheer's deliveries hit the stump and flew to the boundary but the bails wouldn't budge. There was also another throw from within the circle that did not dislodge the bails. Dhoni got annoyed and uprooted the stumps and then pushed them back
