and that is based on few IPL games?
No this is based on the first 3 seasons he played for KKR and then the next 2 for RCB. He hasn't done anything of note for either teams for 5 seasons. That is why he is still in the bench. He is not capable of scoring at 120+ SR. In T20's you have to hit sixes and boundaries at regular intervals and overs without fail. He can score decently in ODI'S and is a huge success in Tests but he is and will be a complete failure in T20's.

again i will ask u how do u know he wont score at strike rate of 120 ? in ipl he never got proper chance ,got injured last year.. its not like he got each and every game and failed ..he probably got 3 games at max per season:giggle:

so kohli fails in ipl and can still perform why cant pujara? u do realize right that he plays slowly in tests and its not his limitation but decision ? kohli has lower strike rate then pujara in tests from what i remember :winky:
He can be given a chance but I doubt he will perform. Kohli is also not a huge t20 player or anything. He can just score at a SR of 110 or so and play the long innings without losing wickets and be involved in Huge partnerships. He is not sehwag or watson or Gayle or even Raina in t20's

I would think 15 games in 5 seasons would be enough to assess a players ability and skill in the shortest format of the game.

we dont really have great t20 players to be honest but pujara can open and play till end im sure he can easily score at decent rate nothing like these gr8 t20 players but every team needs one guy like pujara too the t20 world cup we won in that gauti did this job

no thats 3 games per season with no consistency and lots of injuries :giggle: u cannot label him a failure with that

Gambhir, Raina and Yuvraj and Maybe Sehwag(to an extent)are perhaps the best t20 players along with Gayle, Watson, Mccullum, Warner(he has 6 centuries which is 2nd most in t20's).

Sehwag is great domestically. He scored 6 50's in a row against six diff teams in IPL. Raina and Yuvraj can be considered as t20's monster's as well. They have done just as well as Gayle and Watson and warner even if records suggest other wise. Gayle is overall all time number 1 t20 player in the world.

who cares? these teams get hammered by domestic australian and south african teams :hysterical:

India will keep on producing good batsmen. But we cannot afford to lose a batsman like pujara. He s made for test cricket. Its a rare quality in this world of 20- 20s. I just hope he takes enuf rest n come back wid 100% fitness.

Lol @ people calling him slow with only a few IPL games (which on the first place shouldn't even be bothered about). Some of you should look out for Gayle's Test s/r in Test. One would expect 70 or well at least 60 but he averages less than 60. Matter of fact he averaged less than 57 before his return. Its obnoxious when people blame players for their S/R in test and compare them to IPL. :giggle: @topic Doesn't look serious. Should take a day off.

This thread was supposedly created to discuss his knee injury and it has turned into an analysis of how good/bad he would be in t20.... :offtopic: back on topic.... just to be safe moving forward, pujara should always have a knee brace on while playing and practising.... his knee seems to be a ball magnet... this one doesn't look that bad but even if he were to miss this game the blow would be softened by the aussie squad decimation

If a batsman's injured' date=' Dhoni might go with six bowlers, but is unlikely to pick Rahane.[/quote'] :giggle:
