GoldenSun Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 What I like about him is that unlike soe of his team mates he is humble.. something which is easily comparable with Sachin.
jusarrived Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Have a lot of respect for Cook . Hes a overachiver considering his limited talent & one player whos improved a lot over the years . When he first came in all he had was two shots , now there is hardly any obvious weakness and scores freely .
I6MTW Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Then Is clarke as good as bradman since he is better than cook?
vamos_rafa Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Then Is clarke as good as bradman since he is better than cook? How?
I6MTW Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Clarke can score on any type of pitches. Plus his records suggest so.
JaFanatic Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Clarke can score on any type of pitches. Plus his records suggest so. why cant cook score on any type of pitches :--D
G_B_ Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 cant believe you people are discussing this. He just said it to lure england into a false sense of security.
vamos_rafa Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Clarke can score on any type of pitches. Plus his records suggest so. Yeah seriously, what makes you think cook can't? He has scored in SC( that too to win a series in India), in Oz, scores in England/NZ. I am not sure of his record in SA though.
Ankur Upadhyay Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 cook is good but not in the same league as many other players. He has limited strokes and i have never seen him perform exceptionally well against good bowling attacks.
I6MTW Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Most of cooks runs and best scores came from India. Clarke has equal distribution of scores and runs against all teams.
SLICKR392 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Right now; he is the guy in form. No doubt he scored runs all round the world. But have to see how he manages once he is out of form. No' date=' apparently when our team faces an attack of Hilfenaus, Siddle and co. it became the all time best![/quote'] This ! `
NareshK Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Agreed. He somehow transformed himself into Hall Of Fame mode during the last Ashes series. He has looked superhuman ever since. Yes. He averaged 42 before that 2010/11 Ashes series with average of 26 against Aus, 40 against India, 30 against NZ, 44 against SA, 40 against Pak, 45 against Sri Lanka. Quite decent but nothing great. From that Ashes series, he has averaged 65 overall and 127 against Australia, 70 against India, 63 against New Zealand, 78 against Sri Lanka. So he is going through a good patch right now but he hasnt been particularly consistent since the beginning. Let's see what happens if he goes out of form again.
vamos_rafa Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Most of cooks runs and best scores came from India. Clarke has equal distribution of scores and runs against all teams. Did not know England played the Ashes 2010 against India.

JaFanatic Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Most of cooks runs and best scores came from India. Clarke has equal distribution of scores and runs against all teams. he scored 290s in england na :hmmm:
I6MTW Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 against India dude. The team that was whitewashed 0-4.
indiaregulator Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 against India dude. The team that was whitewashed 0-4. Cannot believe I'm actually having to defend Cook here from some people. 1246 runs at an average of 50.56 vs Australia. Australia are not India. 401 runs at an average of 66.04 vs Bangladesh. Bangladesh are not India. 1100 runs at an average of 58.82 vs Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka are not India. 1167 runs at an average of 58.35 vs West Indies. West Indies are not India. Infact, Cook's only blemish on his record is an average of 36 vs Pakistan and 37 vs NZ (which will rise to around 45-50 I expect come the end of this tour) Even vs the Saffers (Steyn and co) he averages 41. MEANWHILE: We go to Clarke's record. Average of 25 vs Bangladesh Average of 45 vs England. Average of 39 vs Pakistan Average of 39 vs West Indies What this goes to show is that actually, Clarke's record is just as 'inconsistent' (which really actually isn't the case but since you insist Cook is...) as Cook. That's also not taking into consideration Cook has to face the new ball, play in swinging conditions and he doesn't have the chance to play on the compulsory Adelaide, SCG and Melbourne highways.
indiaregulator Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Flat track bully Hilarious, because Cook doesn't even have the chance to play on flat pitches. I'm sure he would love to though.
