End of Aussie Era

The only change id make is bring Lee in for Siddle if fit, he then becomes the spearhead bowler, and also brings some experience to the bowling ranks. If he's not fit maybe Clark for Siddle, but thats just a maybe. Johnson hasnt been on song with the ball, but his average with the bat this test was around 35 so he is fulfilling that all-rounder roll they have him in. I dont see them bringing Clark in for Johnson, they value his batting too much. For the batsmen, Hughes i think just needs a bit more time to settle(and a little unlucky, but with the stroke he played he deserved to be out), Hussey's form is still iffy but id keep him for this ashes series(also a little unlucky, he was the most hard done by i think). North failed this Test but scored a century last Test, hardly anything to be concerned about. Ponting played a bonehead shot, Katich a bit unlucky. Hauritz actually looked alright for once, maybe they should break his fingers more often.

mitchell johnson is turning out to be australia's version of irfan pathan. very good bowler to begin with, and a decent batsman. evolved into a very average hit-me bowler, and a good batsman

On the basis of 2 tests ?

Why is he not in squad then??? Strange. What if katich gets injured? Why no back up spinner? Have the oz selectors lost the plot?
Just remembered, Watson can be used as a back up opener.

And there we have it. My prediction 2 years back(which invoked much ridicule) of the end of the aussie era comes to full fruition. They have lost 3 of their last 4 series. Lost the ashes again. And have slumped to 4th in the rankings. ITS THE END OF THE AUSSIE ERA! It also shows how soft they have become in how Ponting will retain his captaincy despite shocking tactics and shocking captaincy in last year in tests. They have lost it!!! The mighty aussies of old would have sacked him a while back, while now they just cling on to him. They also don't sledge anymore, don't play a spinner and play makeshift openers. The fall has been quick and far and they have hit the floor with a mighty bump. Their only saving grace is they get to play the hapless windies next and then the even more hapless paks. Its shame we are not playing them next to kill of the aussies and ensure ponting gets the sack!

Aussies are going to continue their dominance it seems. Full strength India is the only team that comes close, and might be even better. All remains to be seen.
