Only 2 csk players from that team that played in final who are eligible for playing today are not in the team. Badrinath and Vijay. Vijay is in the test team so that's ok then!!! Firstly the players who are picked are not awful. But we can all see whats going on. These lads are given the chances by playing in first place , given good runs and every opportunity. Used it best way possible tactically. Are massively backed and instilled with confidence. Other don't get this. Other players not given this. Look at Mishra and Rahane. Made to carry drinks for months and months, series after series. One they finally got a chance, had to deliver as out otherwise. Mohit should not be in team as clear example of whats going on here compared to Shami. Raina always used as bowler and backed relentlessly is another clear example.

Not entirely meritless - Mohit is one of the best t20 bowlers on the domestic circuit - at a strike rate of 17.4 and eco 7.27. Compare with Aaron s/r 27 and eco 7.51. Shami may have been a better choice but he was also very expensive in the few matches he has played. We can try Aaron for test matches. For the shorter formats, he is a big liability to the team with his present level of control - he will cost us a lot of matches until he learns proper control.
