no.2 in tests 1 in ODIs and 3 in T20Is!! We're the best team in world cricket now :proud:

Something Seriously fishy ... :hmmmm2: 1. How are Australia on 4 after getting hammered by us 4-0 ... while Pakistan are on 5th?? 2. How are we on 2nd when England just did poorly in one series, which they didn't even lose. 3. How come NZL are on 8th when they have had some amazing results in last 2 years ..Drew in SRL and AUS 1-1, Lost to Ind and Eng 2-0 Away Drew against then No.2 England at home ... They seemed to have done better than Lankans who even lost to Pakistan even.

1. Australia have a solid home record. Infact ahead of losing 4-0 to India they had won a lot of series. 2. Well they lost 3-0 to Pak in UAE 2-0 to SA and drew 0-0 with lowly new zealand. Their 4-0 victory over India was also pushed back as it was in 2011 and given less importance. 3. You need to win. Draws dont get you much in terms of climbing the ladder.

I personally think that England and South Africa are better outfits in the test matches than India. South africa though will be extremely hard to catch. India Australia England all have to play them at home in the coming years. While they dont have a great record in the past years of winning. There they have never lost a series. A 16 point difference is going to be hard to overcome. I think SA are going to be top of the test rankings for another 2-3 years from this date.

Someone please find the facts ... Its difficult for me to do as I am using my cell phone now ... I believe results from 12 months ago are not considered and Rankings change every 1st of Sept. IIRC. If you're saying 4-0 win over India is forgotten as it was 2011, when was the 3-0 defeat to Pakistan buddy?? It was early 2012 ... January if I am right, how can that be included then.

nobody said its forgotten. It is simply pushed back and given less importance. In terms of rankings the 2-0 loss to SA probably hurt them more than the 3-0 to pak.
Series played in the first two years of the four-year limit count half; essentially, recent matches are given more weight.

That might be it. Anyways, these ranking system is too poor. Need to have difference in points for home and away wins.

every ranking system will have a flaw. I agree that away wins should be ranked more than wins at home. Sa will probably zoom further away
