That has no connection to this whatsoever. He even lauded Dhoni and the team after the 4-0.

Rather than being a hypocrite he has also stated that winning at home is important and home advantage isn't unfair.

There was a comment made by Pujara stating that he would be more pleased to score 100s oversees than at home. This sort of attitude is what is needed but if Gambhir had lauded Dhoni about 4-0 and never mentioned anything about the oversees, people here would have still gone after him. Its getting pretty common now among the fans.

Why you brought this up here is something I've got no clue about and something that has got nothing to do with this topic. You run out words and you bring out old articles. I can do that too. When he talks about himself and Sehwag as an opening pair, hides behind their past record, doesn't talk of the failures on 4-5 back to back series, not even a cursory mention of their overseas record. Then there's that bragging in Australia about coming to India and showing them off. Add the chest thumping on 4-0 win. The statement is absolutely correct in spirit but is poorly timed and if I may so uncalled for. Immediately after the 0-4 thumping of India, did you hear any Aussies or English player/expert say the key is to go to India and win a series there?

Din't Kohli, Ishant do that as well. Kohli did it on both occasions. People just laughed it off after the England series despite Kohli's poor show but it all changes when a lighter player comes into the spotlight and makes such statement. -During the Aus tour, to Warner. -During the England tour on how England will get back what they gave India in England though he wasn't even in the side.

Arey I think it's time people let go of the media trash and just focused on what happens on-field. I found Gambhir, Kohli and Srini mama's rhetoric about green pitches and home bullies cringeworthy, but in truth people would just find wrong in whatever statement Gambhir made in this instance. Like lauding a home whitewash would be "ignoring overseas problems" or in this case acknowledging overseas problems is "bitterness about dropping". Just see what happens. He was still out of form and I wouldn't have picked him in the side after that ton but he was atleast determined and scored a ton and he face enough no. of quicks and in India its how well you play against the spinner not quicks.

But he would have got out to quick poking first before getting to spinners like he was doing in warmup though lucky to not get an edge.

Ok, so the conclusion is that Gambhir is absolutely correct in saying that winning overseas is more important than 4-0 win at home. He will not like to part of a home squad and doesn't want to score runs at home , he wants to do that only abroad. Great comments Gambhir!! There is nothing wrong in what Gambhir is saying.. BUT.. he IS the kind of guy who will hold a grudge make it known to others. Boy I wish these cricketers would just shut up and let their bat or ball do the talking.
