PS: I wish the late Shobha acted in Sridevi's role but then the movie would not have been made if not for the death of the former.

She was in a relationship with Balu Mahendra (dir. of Sadma originally Moondram Pirai in Tamil) who was already married. She wanted him to divorce his wife and marry her but Balu was not up for it. She couldn't have it any more and committed suicide. But a few others hold that Balu killed her. Her death is still a mystery just like Divya Bharthi's. Since Balu was quite close to the political circles back then, he went scot-free, not even a probe was conducted. This film is Balu's tribute to Shobha who was 18 when she died. She had already won a National Award for a mallu movie by then.
