cowboysfan Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Then why are Vijay/Dhawan part of Champions trophy squad? good point but the selectors think they are default openers right now.GG may have a chance for SA as a backup if he does well in CT.
Ultimate_Game Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 IMO selectors are saving him for Tests, especially the away tours later this year as Pujara has a long history of injuries with both knees operated already. And he was mostly struggling through injuries in the Aus series as well.
Old guy Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 IMO selectors are saving him for Tests' date=' especially the away tours later this year as Pujara has a long history of injuries with both knees operated already. Sooda Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 :hmmm: What do you think about this decision ? I thought he would have been handy in English conditions in Champions Trophy because of his technique and temperament. I hope it is not at the same time as that would be ridiculous scheduling. Not just Pujara but also Rahane, Dhawan, Jadeja to name a few should all be in both squads- if it is a choice between the two frankly they should go to SA
Sachin=GOD Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Good decision. He should concentrate only on Tests.

Vanarp22 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Let's all laugh at Indian selectors....LoL Selectors Not including Pujara or Jaggi...:emc:
Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Why do people create threads with similar titles.... "Let's everyone laugh at XYZ" Lack of creativity :potstir:
Texan Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 so whats the purpose of naming probables Because they are probables, meaning the probability of them being picked in the team is high and those not picked is low. But there is still a chance that they can be picked. In the past, many a times, a player not in the probables list has been picked in the team. Sehwag was picked for the 2007-08 tour of Australia despite not being in the probables list that was announced before.
Trichromatic Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 So, what if they had selected injured Pujara? You would created this thread anyway, right?
hhunaeh Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 They have scheduled india a tour to south africa in june. He might end up going there.
wanted_desi Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 They did decent job. Some people are never happy.
FischerTal Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Selectors may be wanting him to give his best for SA
vamos_rafa Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Cheteshwar Pujara, who had an excellent Test series against Australia, during which he also showed his ability to accelerate and score freely in a tricky chase in the fourth Test in Delhi, has not been named. Pujara will be leading the India A side to South Africa, the itinerary for which has not yet been finalised. Should the dates not clash, Pujara could be considered for the Champions Trophy, said a BCCI source, since it's not mandatory for teams to pick their final 15 from the preliminary squad. Pragyan Ojha, the left-arm spinner, who picked up seven wickets in two Tests against Australia and has not been included among the 30 probables, could also be part of that India A squad.
sivanand82 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Nice move.Hope they are preserving him for tests and the A tour which are far more important than crappy Champions trophy.Bravo selectors! if they r actually thinking in that direction
JaFanatic Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 atleast chintu's exclusion is some what acceptable but whats wrong with jaggi
jiggo Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Good move by selectors by picking Pujara to lead India A in South Africa. And some interesting picks in the probable 30, though expect some of them going to SA, e.g. Pandey and Kaul. I have confidence in this selection panel.
