someone Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Will it be played outside India? Due to the general elections next year. Which country should it go then?
rkt.india Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 only one it can go to and that is SA, closest time difference.
Sidhoni Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 It'll go to SA just like it did in '09. England were also vouching for it then.
mhr123 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 maybe they shud opt for Sharjah. Condition very similar to India plus they can get huge crowd.
Pagalpanti Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 It'll go to SA just like it did in '09. England were also vouching for it then. Really? It smacks right into their home season, doubt they'd have wanted to host it.
Austin 3:!6 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Maybe Pakistan and resume the cricket there:giggle: Aaman ki aasha
Austin 3:!6 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Maybe Pakistan and resume the cricket there:giggle: Aaman ki aasha But Pakistani players will still not be allowed :finger::finger:
BeautifulGame Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 maybe they shud opt for Sharjah. Condition very similar to India plus they can get huge crowd. Conditions will be too hot and draining. Weekend holidays also differ meaning attracting big crowds for Saturday and Sunday will be a big issue.not sure about pitches lasting 2 months either. Best solution would be South Africa .
SLICKR392 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 The election will intensify after July, August or September. IPL's in April-May.
carnish Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Any country it goes to should have atleast 9 grounds where each team can have one home ground. So I guess UAE is ruled out. Plus SA and AUS are partners with BCCI for CLT20 and hence they will be given the higher say. Its impossible to play in AUS during APR-MAY, hence SAF is the best bet. May be BCCI can take the IPL to West Indies, which would just be their home season time and hence the best time to play cricket. Although the time difference would mean they will have to play in the early morning hours for us to enjoy the game at 8 pm in India.
adi B Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 The election will intensify after July' date=' August or September. IPL's in April-May.[/quote'] huh?afaik, voting occurs in april and results are declared in may
someone Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 So I guess in this upcoming auctions, SA players will be the key priority and given premium prices.
rajmarie Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 So I guess in this upcoming auctions' date=' SA players will be the key priority and given premium prices.[/quote'] The players are contracted for 3 years...so franchise need to keep that in mind.
indiefan Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 huh?afaik' date='voting occurs in april and results are declared in may[/quote'] Lot of talks about the government not lasting till the end of 2013. Early elections are possible.
ganeshran Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Last time there was problem between Lalit Modi and the government. They will sort it out this time
someone Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Actually, isn't it a shame that India which says it is one of the top 5 powers in the world but can't even provide security/protection for its own competition. Even we want Olympics in India, and how would that work?
The Outsider Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 2009 was different because of the recent Bombay attacks - unless something like that happens in the coming year IPL will be played in India.
