Jadeja would be best captain. Because he seems to be the only talented permanent fixture in the Indian team and he plays all 3 formats. And he is performing well now and is no longer the same Jadeja that was ridiculed 3 years ago. He is a potent bowler and now he needs to improve his batting against swing and seam(he can handle medium pace very well though) and his bowling on pacy green tracks. And he needs to improve his english and needs to have the calmness of Dhoni and the aggressiveness of Ponting. Plus he has the respect of "SIR". So he would be feared by the opposition. He would make a legendary captain. Kohli is too immature and aggressive. Pujara hasn't played in odi's or t20's yet. Unmukt Chand hasn't even made his debut yet. Raina is not playing tests and does not deserve to play, so he can't be captain of tests. Rohit is not even a regular in the side, and people are talking about him captaining. Ashwin is not even permanent in the side, so two very bad tours and there would be a chance he would be dropped. Plus in pacy tracks he would have to drop himself often, and other spinners would not get any chance in away tours as long as he is captain. So after Dhoni retires, Jadeja would be the best bet.

Kohli will be fine if he plays with MSD for some more time. He should move to CSK :--D
AVKC will metaphorically be on fire if that happens......Kohli will be the most hated cricketer in the world if that happens.....and that would be some seriously hilarious ****.....

Ashwin is a smart guy and cricketer. He could become a good captain. Two problems though. He's a spinner (first choice spinner, but only by just), it could create a problem when playing tests overseas as you play only 1 spinner abroad and you'll always have this nagging feeling if some other spinner may be better for that particular match or series. Also sometimes (very rarely though) you may want to play 4 pace bowlers (NZ, Perth etc.) His fitness is awful. His fielding is awful. That will permeate to the rest of the team. I mean in this generation, if your young captain is unfit, he cannot demand outstanding fielding and fitness from his team.
He has astute cricketing brain. But pressure handling as a captain is a whole different cup of tea. Will play support role much better. Pujara might be in line for captaincy. Never seen him captaining him though. Kohli is another option. Other guys have to establish themselves first.

You may see him during the SA 'A' tour.
