G_B_ Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I watched Ishant Sharma bowl today and I kept saying to myself, just how dumb is this dude to bowl in the same spot again and again and again. Raina hit 3 boundaries in the same part of the ground in one over of similar balls. Its the same with RP singh v David Miller. Lets not even mention Dinda. Which brings me to the conclusion that Indian pacers are just not smart enough to analyse their bowling. There guys do have talent. Many times they start the innings extremely well. But just collapse towards the end. I would love to know the educational background of those of these bowlers. Are they just too dim? Somebody like Srinath who was a rare good pacer in the death over was a software engineer.

Though i don't rate him much that quality needs to be appreciate. Zak did that well when he was under the pump in death overs.
express bowling Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Ishant is not the brightest bulb in the pack that is for sure. Loads of talent and complete inability to learn from his numerous mistakes. Regarding other pacers -- Lack of education is perhaps an issue in some cases. Experimenting too much, trying too many different types of deliveries without the ability to do so, is another reason. Our pacers rarely even try to bowl the tried and tested delivery types like an attempted yorker in the slog overs or channel bowling at normal times. Most pacers seem to lack a stock delivery. Bad bowling actions, which hinder the ability to bowl in the same zone, ball after ball, maybe another reason.

As said....they come into the match surely with a predetermined line & lenght....but once a batsman take them on.....they dont have a plan B. Plus since they go into slower ball or short ball....just too often. & lets not talk abt yorker....to get it done...you need to practice that in nets....but as said...in nets they practice their same line & lenght with which they plan to start the game. Feel sad for guys like Ishant & RP...they have good Intl experience....but sadly they dont learn from those.

asterix Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 In case of Chewtiyakant Sharma, he does lacks brain and its well documented in many match threads over many years now... He could get wickets by subtle change of pace (like Bravo does for example, if he gets hit)....

G_B_ Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 One good thing is that Bhuvi atleast has kept his head among the carnage. He has not been outstanding, but rather he has been sensible and usually goes for 10-12 runs in the final 4 which is acceptable.

People realised that Johnson was his baap, wont be surprised if next season CSK go all out for Johnson in the bidding so that Raina can be spared his blushes

Suddenly comes with bang and makes 99... I was wondering why not a single short pitch ball bowled at him last night... :hmmm:
