Not now that the sena has the RPI in alliance with the BJP. RPI is such a party that they will provide you with 5% of the vote in every constituency in maharashtra. Enough to win the extremely close contests in Mumbai. The thing is though Sharad Pawar has committed genocide in rural maharashtra. The NCP have committed such a large irrigation scam + the drought means about 50,000 farmers have committed suicide. As much as i dont like the congress, Prithviraj Chavan has done a good job. Credit to him. But there is a groundswell of hate against the NCP in rural areas. BJP will mostly reap the benefits along with the sena. I feel that Congress might be better off going it alone in Maharashtra and then try to form government with the NCP. In a way its a contrast of styles. Shrewd tactics v Charisma. Uddhav Thakarey did play a master stroke in the BMC elections. Sena got elected on the back of women power. I am sure a record number of women will be fielded in the lok sabha and maharashtra elections. Similarly Uddhavs desicion to ally with the RPI might lead to a sena-bjp win.

Their problem is that they dont have enough to win a seat or no strong hold. Traditionally they have allied with the left. You look at Raj T, his stronghold is starting to take shape in and around the city of Nashik and surrounding areas in the ghats bordering Gujarat Munde is a mass leader. His biggest problem was that Vilasrao Deshmukh was a bigger leader than him. They were both close friends from college. With Vilasrao dead Munde is sort of unopposed on the patch. Congress is facing big difficulty in getting somebody to challenge Munde in Marathwada. I think Vilasrao's death defacto added about 10-15 seats to the BJP account due to Munde. BJP's biggest problem in maharashtra has always been too many poles of power. In the last election it was Munde v Gadkari. Now with Gadkari out of the picture Munde is being given a free role. NCP's problems mirror the shiv sena. Pawar is trying to put his daughter Supriya sule at the top in the party. While his nephew Ajit Pawar is trying to slowly get control from his uncle. Problem for Pawar is that the NCP gets bulk of his funding from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad areas which are a stronghold for Ajit's faction. The BCCI chair therefore becomes a matter of revenue for Pawar. I dont think the NCP are confident about their chances in 2014.

Otherwise he gave all the raag rattan on videshi influence in India but when MJ came for a concert at Andheri Sports Complex and his company promised some work for his party workers Balasaheb let him pay. Even now if you pay him few lakh rupees he will wake up from the dead and try to do the moon walk. :giggle:
