gaurav92 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 And more over I am a fan od old Kishore Da and Rafi Classics, his (AR Rehman's) songs are not even close to those classics from the Legends SD Burman Da, Pancham da, Laxmikant-Pyarelal Ji, S-J and some other composers of those times
maniac Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Highly overrated IMHO' date=' never liked any of his albums apart from Roza and Dil Se upto and extent and a few songs here and there.[/quote'] Respect your opinion but Lagaan and Dil Se are 2 of the best puttogether albums of all time....Would have said Rangeela in terms of how ground breaking it was for the time but couple of songs were re-used from Telugu/Tamil Movies composed by A.R.R
gaurav92 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Yeha to each its own. AR just doesn't have the class (according to me). And I know absolutely nothing about music, its just that he doesn't pleases my ears.

Yoda-esque Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Rahman is the best thing to have come out of India in terms of music.

jalebi_bhai Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Rahman is the best thing to have come out of India in terms of music. Agreed....but don't say these things in threads where chettinaad lungis can come and start bragging about how he is the greatest because he is Tamilian.....:giggle:....
maniac Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Rahman is the best thing to have come out of India in terms of music. This......I am sure the old gen music composers copied a lot when there wasn't as much scrutiny....I I heard originals of tunes lifted by L-P and R.DBurman. Rehman is the Standout
Desi Cartman Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Respect your opinion but Lagaan and Dil Se are 2 of the best puttogether albums of all time....Would have said Rangeela in terms of how ground breaking it was for the time but couple of songs were re-used from Telugu/Tamil Movies composed by A.R.R Lagan at best is decent, there is nothing outstanding about it. Dil se, roja and bombay were different for that time and very original. Off late he has been producing below average work. Also, I hate his voice. It's more of a screeching noise than singing to me.
