rkt.india Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Really? Why is Dhawan as well? Why is suddenly rated so highly? It's because of one knock in his only test innings. Also, both Vijay and Dhawan did well in limited domestic matches this season and thus both equally deserve to be there. If you are questioning Vijay, then Dhawan should be questioned as well. It's a very simply point. Both have been given chances before too and failed on ODIs. People did not really rate them even when they performed in domestic. Remember how Vijay's 100s in Irani trophy were dismissed by people here. Both are selected based on what they did in test matches against Aus.
skindia Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Based on vijay hazare trophy and IPL,uthappa would have been ideal choice..he never got decent run as opener and he did well in limited opportunities he got.
jalebi_bhai Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Based on vijay hazare trophy and IPL' date='uthappa would have been ideal choice..he never got decent run as opener and he did well in limited opportunities he got.[/quote'] There is a reason why he doesn't get selected... CGuPP8vLlTc Q-tiyappa is an insult to Indian cricketers.....
skindia Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 just imagine his performance had he got 85 matches like rohit sharma ..
jalebi_bhai Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 just imagine his performance had he got 85 matches like rohit sharma .. In all seriousness......he should be part of our ODI squad....ahead of Nohit....at least he will click once in 5 matches.....unlike Nohit.......who clicks once in 12 matches......

CSK Fan Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 So Dhoni now hates Tamils too? Maybe its because of the Meriyappan issue
vvvslaxman Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Dhoni trolled lol I was almost cert he was going to open given the two failures of Rohit.
vvvslaxman Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Anti jinx :fail: :hysterical: I think you are fit only for IPL forum not general cricket :cantstop: Did you even read what the original post was.
jalebi_bhai Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 With Dhawan' date=' however, it's more about him scoring that one big score to set the wheels of his ODI career in motion......[/quote'] :hatsoff:.....
G_B_ Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 well done Jalebi bhai. You bouncing emma watson avatar has done the trick.

Sooda Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Both have been given chances before too and failed on ODIs. People did not really rate them even when they performed in domestic. Remember how Vijay's 100s in Irani trophy were dismissed by people here. Both are selected based on what they did in test matches against Aus. Yes they dont get difference between formats, but these two have done well in Ltd Overs in domestics you could argue. Problem is if not these two who would replace GG/SRT/ VS in ODIs .. Pujara should have been in the squad instead of Vijay. Even Rahane had a good IPL at least and so has proven to be a better ltd overs player. And as unconvincing as he has been deserved a longer shot in the squad at least. There arent that many other options really... DK could open I guess... then its guys like Mukund or Uthappa.
Sooda Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Problem for Vijay is that he had tons of haters before the Aussie series with many openly shouting bias when he was picked for that series. He threw egg at their faces and they sheepishly agreed that they got their asses handed down. Now that he has been picked for the next series, it is a repeat of the same hate sequence. It will be the same for SA series no matter whether he does well here or not. Some will claim he has no technique, others will scream CSK bias, yet others will say he is a show boat with no tailunt to show on the field. No matter what the reason, the common theme is absolute hate for the guy. When even guys like VVS had haters throughout his career with people posting monkey face images to mock his facial expression when he got bowled in tests, I am not surprised at the shyte thrown at a nobody like Vijay. I agree that in tests he has got some unfair stick- not so much anymore maybe- but you have to admit he is a poor ODI bat.
CSK Fan Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 p.s. Should I mention that I am Tamil? Don't worry, no body is perfect. We won't judge you
yoda Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Isn't he from CSK? So why is he dropped? Cause Srini is out and Dhoni's wings have been clipped. :winky:
