No disrespect to this trophy. but a ODI ICC event in England! its a wrong place to arrange it. This crowd simply dont know how to enjoy colored dressed cricket. Seriously this would be much more fun to watch LOIs even in any terrorist shyteholes like Pakistan with white beared chacha dancing in the gallery.

You see full packed crowd here in England for neural matches, because it is a multicultural society. Matches like PakVsWI wouldn't be full packed in Indian/Sri Lanka even it is CT or any other format. The crowd is nothing do with particular type of format
not even multi cultural. England has a sporting pedigree and people turn out to watch good cricket on display. Fair to say that even WI v SA will be full (atleast 80%) cause the people want to go out and watch the best players on display. There is a real appreciation of good cricket as neutrals. My neighbor who is a white man in his 40s told me he saw Sachin at Old Trafford in the 1990 and still remembers the day fondly and therefore spent money to see Sachin play in 2011. What happens further with cricket is many people who attend are members of county clubs, so attend as a means to raise revenue for their clubs as well. A sort of charity. Forget cricket, even the rugby world cup to be held in 2015 will be packed. The olympics as well were packed. There is a culture to watch good sport as a netural. Countless such examples like Wimbledon etc.

I agree it is better than WC format That format is a joke and plain boring. I wan't even interested in group matches, I knew that no matter how bad India preforms they would still quality for quarterfinal or any test nation[except bangla]

yeah thats why the people pay £65 for a ticket and turn up in numbers. While they may not make the noise of the asian fans, they do appreciate a good effort from both teams.

Not really. If it was as good, teams/fans would be giving much more respect. Do we even care who won the event last time or in 2006 or before that? The format is great, matches are of better quality, but somehow teams do not value it much, nor do the players.

in the context of a Test world cup which will happen no. Probably not and WC>>>>> Champions trophy in importance. Prior to say the T20 wc i think many rated it extremely highly. I personally loved the knockout format.

What I think should happen is replace current WC fromat to this CT format. I don't want the tournament to be ruined by minnows. Minnows can be given a fair chance by competing with 7 and 8th ranked side in the world for two spots Does anyone like my idea?

Well Ireland should be given a chance. They can beat any team. Bangladesh is getting better and so is Zimbabwe and Afghanistan.

Minnows are good. I like having a few matches against the minnows. And the WC is definitely the best tournament. Would you like to say "my team is the world champion" or that "my team won the CT"?

The ideal format for the WC is the one they had in 1992. Top 8 teams, each team plays the other (28 matches), top 4 into the semis and then the final, a total of 31 matches, spread across about 5 weeks.

What's wrong with the atmosphere in England ? Some of us like it that way, and to the neutral eye is not bad to have that once in a while. The two months of jumping jhapak wasn't enough ?

CT should be held in the associate nation along with the host associate nation. 9 team, 3 groups, top 3 through, and best 2nd into semis the original meaning of the CT has been lost due to greediness of the ICC.

would be advantage for group with minnow in it

would be, so top seeds should be rewarded. the aim of CT was to raise funds and cricket awareness in associate nations. the one in Kenya was rather good and well attended
