Sooda Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 As poor as he hs been, he still is taking wickets and that is why he retains his spot. Since his comeback to the ODI side late last year vs Pak, he has 17 wickets@28 in 11 ODIs, ER of 5.07, thats awesome by our standards lol That is surprising, ill admit... had a good series vs Pak that helped his wicket tally... from I have observed this tourno he releases any pressure built up by tight bowling at the other end. Todays wicket was flukey. Irfan had a bad match vs SL but it was just one match. He is a proven ODI performer...With this being a 'dead rubber' the time was good to try him or Vinay. Vinay for all his faults has done ok in ODIs for us and had a good IPL. Yes Shami should have been in the squad, he was good vs England.. not sure why he was not retained
rkt.india Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 in ipl he was only indian bowler bowling yorkers outside off stump ' date='he bowled well to dhoni too.[/quote'] Does not matter. He is still not that good. He misses 4 out of 6 times and whenever he misses is sent out of the park at this pace. RCB lost a match due to that. I think that was superover where he was thrashed by White. He has more utility front up because he is most consistent than Ishant.

singhprakash72 Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Please tell me anyone why one earth this freaking bowler keeps playing in Indian team ....can u believe even Rohit has started scoring but this piece of S***t keep playing again and again bowling those same crap bowling short wide outside off stump.
carnish Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Ishant will come back strong and you all will eat humble pies. :giggity:
saneindian Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Bowled superbly so far in a big game and continues to pick wickets! has 7 wickets in the tournament now, not bad at all for a 3rd seamer.
saneindian Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Well bowled Ishant, crucial spell in the middle overs and a well deserved MoM :hatsoff:
Sooda Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Well bowled, he seems to need pitches with slightly uneven bounce on them though
sekhar Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Ishant is always a bowler who loves to bowl on bouncy pitches..He did decently well against england at mohali and dharmasala, arguably two fastest pitches in india...In mohali some of his deliveries to kp and cook were unplayable..he did well in the oval pitch too, again a pitch with good bounce. He is poor throughout his career because he didn't had that privilege to play on bouncy pitches in SC conditions and his reluctance to bowl on full length.* END OF DISCUSSION*
Sidhoni Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 He is in top 5 wicket takers. Just how misleading stats can get!
Lord Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 He is in top 5 wicket takers. Just how misleading stats can get! bowled well yesterday though, credit where due hopefully hes lucky on Sunday too:pray:
adi B Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 still is a brainless bowler who i`ll certainly not pick in the test team
CG Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Unless he goes back to his 2008 action he will never fulfil his potential.
ShebbySB Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 He shd try to bowl at his full pace or regain his pace which is 140+ consistently not 135-140 range which he's bowling ri8 now.
saneindian Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Pace or no pace, he's taking wickets and nothing helps a bowler than taking wickets regularly, something which Ishant struggled to do when he was bowling 140+. As the first change bowler, has done decently since his ODI comeback. Needs to be consistent now as we play 15-16 ODIs in the next 5 months and he would most likely play almost all of these matches.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 His wayward bowling has always been an issue in ODI's until this yr he wasnt even considered for ODI's it has just been due to a lack of options outside India plus hardly anyone like him who is a tall bowler who can hit the decks and bowl bouncers/variations. His stats over 12 months are better than I thought but bare in mind he doesnt open the bowling so has some protection
