If Pakistan were under any doubt as to the level of anger their poor performance in the Champions Trophy had engendered among their supporters, it would have been banished as the team bus was pelted with bottles and stones as it left Edgbaston.

I can't understand how supporting a sports team could be the same as supporting the country. Yes, the sports team represents the country, but it's not the only entity representing the country. I can choose to support India's quest for becoming a permanent member of the security council, but need not support the Indian law that has a provision for death penalty. It's an individual choice, has got nothing to do with patriotism.
