FischerTal Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Yeah they lost. 2-0 test win for the Saffas. Maybe you confused your own saffas with the real ones :cantstop:
Muloghonto Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 You are minnows cricket at test level. Even Sri Lanka has a better win/loss ratio. That record includes a lot of psuedo-cricket, which nobody really cares for. Just accept you're England's ***** at test cricket. Over twice as many wins in tests for England v India. This really is an unfair one sided contest. Maybe whenever India tours England we should offer them three innings just to make the games competitive. Sorry, but what ? real facts got you all knickered in a knot ? You uttered this same garbage in the Anderson thread and then vanished. We are tied 12-12 over the last 30 years. Of which, we've held a 10-4 winning record for 22 year stretch. Now that makes England the new upstart (over the last couple of years) who is traditionally India's b!tch for the better (or greater) part of your existence. If anything, England is our b!tch on the record of the current and the last generation and as usual, England has to resort to digging through history to tilt the numbers in their favour. Which is laughable, since England invented cricket, its supposed to dominate cricket. But ever since others learnt how to play cricket, they've proved to be better than the English. Pretty much consistent with every single sport England invented (tennis, soccer, golf) and then inferior athletic and cerebral capacity of English players ( a product of inferior sporting ethos in the English culture) ensured that other nations learnt and surpassed England in its own sports. Like really, has there been any other nation who's invented as many sports and turned to be a dinosaur at it like England ? Nation of mediocre athletes, i must say.

The Outsider Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Sorry' date=' that is nothing more than institutionalized BS. Real cricket is the one that players have to compete the hardest against each other to make the team and it is incentivized by money. That would be ODI cricket, which players care a lot more about because it is where the incentive and thus, the competition is at. Professionals compete the hardest against and with each other when the incentive is the greatest. Nobody really cares for a form of sport that takes 5x longer to play and pays 1/5th as much as the most competetive form (limited overs cricket).[/quote'] Why do players rarely if ever skip a test series or even a test match, but regularly skip over ODIs and T20s?

Yeah, yeah 12-12 over 30 years when English cricket went through one of it's weakest periods. You'll get whitewashed again next year. That's because the sports we invent are often played by a vast number of countries. Countries usually specialise at one sport and are rubbish at everything else. We're competitive at a number of sports for a country of 60M that's not bad. Compare our Olympic medals to India's. At cricket you guys see it as a religion. It's 3rd or 4th most popular sport over here and your record is a joke in tests. We're the 2nd most successful test nation overall. We've won a series everywhere in the last 13 years.

special K Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 Aussies are very good players of cricket. Up to the mid 80's the head to head was even. 86 wins to England and 87 to Aus. They pulled away in the 90's when England fell apart and they dominated. That head to head will come back more even.
