SLICKR392 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 btw maybe in the future its better if we play in England. Our young teams always seem to do well in Australia in recent times. I would say its better for our players to tour NZ. Its supports the quicks more than the current Australian or English pitches, IMO.
G_B_ Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Herwadkar is not an attacking batsmen but steady. he has always been extremely attacking in the kanga league
rkt.india Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 he has always been extremely attacking in the kanga league Never seen hin play any attacking for India U19. This U19 team looks pretty thin in batting. Two 15-16 year olds.
jj_28 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Does anyone have any info on kuldeep yadav His stats in this tournament are absolutely amazing
nsareen Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Never seen hin play any attacking for India U19. This U19 team looks pretty thin in batting. Two 15-16 year olds. i would say they dont have power hitters, but batsman of the quality of zol & samson is encouraging, and even bains the opener is a decent bat. Avg of 63 odd in cooch behar trophy. the rest are 3 from mumbai ( iyer, herwadkar, khan) and all of them are playing, so 50% batting goes to mumbai & the rest to the other states. I think D Hooda is a bit of an allrounder, has scored runs in cooch behar & was amongst the top wicket takers. So if you combine all of them , are a decent batting unit.
nsareen Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Does anyone have any info on kuldeep yadav His stats in this tournament are absolutely amazing Info : UP player, has already played with the last U19 team under Unmukt chand, this will be his second crack at the U19 world cup team after failing in the last edition. Strengths: He is a chinamen bowler, so a bit different than the conventional spin bowlers. Weakness: Does not bat too well. Oppurtunity: He has the potential, in the UP cricket circles people are already talking about him, so if he can be a regular in the Ranji side, and can learn to take wickets on any kind of surface & contribute with the bat a bit, he is bound to make a big impression.
nsareen Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Just noticed Aamir Gani, Arothe, Ricky Bhui have not been given chance to play. Gani played against PNG but the other two did not even get that chance. Instead of playing 4 players from mumbai they should try out these two and see how they perform. Ricky bhui has been in the news for good reasons, they should try him out. Ricky looks a little plumpy though!
nsareen Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 A gift from Bengal Sports Ricky Bhui is being talked about in the cricketing circles for all the right things he does on the field Unleashing Bengal charm This Bengali boy is the toast of Andhra Cricket Association for he is doing all the right things on the field, bringing laurels to the team. Teenager Ricky Bhui has emerged the new run machine in the ongoing season for the ACA under-16 team that has qualified for semi-finals of the all India knockout tournament at Nagpur. His effortless batting is the talking point in the cricketing circles of the State after he slammed as many as three hundreds – all big ones – against Goa (170), Himachal Pradesh (251) and last year's national champion Maharashtra (179). “I consider him a smart cricketer. He uses his brains and shifts gear according to the situation. That he possesses loads of patience is evident by looking at the scores he registered,†says National Cricket Academy Level III coach Ch. Krishna Rao. The coach finds Ricky the captain material. “He has all the qualities of a leader. He has a bright futureâ€, he declares. A student of Visakha Valley School, Ricky is settled in Vizag and has played for the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association before earning the coveted ACA cap. In the South Zone under-16 league tournament at Vizag, he scored 261 runs in five matches and cracked as many as 26 fours and one six with an average of 43.27. But it was at Nagpur that the real talent of Ricky, playing the crucial all India knock out matches, came to the fore when he mustered two huge hundreds. “There is no doubt that he played a vital role in the dream run of ACA at Nagpur. He also helped stitch important partnerships. He has notched up 51 fours and 9 sixes so far,†says an elated ACA director (Oerations) M.S.K. Prasad. While accolades pour in on his natural cricketing abilities, coach Krishna Rao feels that Ricky should concentrate on fitness as it will decide his future. “He needs to tone up his muscles as he looks a bit flabbyâ€. Rao feels that though the boy has swift reflexes and is fast between the wickets, the extra flab may take a toll on him in the days to come. “With age, his bulging waistline may slow down his cricketing abilities,†says a concerned coach.

rkt.india Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Is Kuldeep injured? No. Rested. I think they are giving chances to other players. Even Atul Singh is not playing today. Rishi Arothe in place of him. 09:40 India have rested Kuldeep Yadav today who has bowled so well in the tournament so far.
