jalebi_bhai Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 IF I MADE A POST FOR EVERY TIME DHONI ****ED UP on on the field, i would have about 200,000 posts by now. dhoni is an awful tactician. his strength as captain is his man management, he gets along wel with everyone and occasionally offers his friends a sweet deal by contracting them to his sports agency - thereby getting them blessed by the holy presence of srini mama. as an on-field captain he is hilariously reactive and clueless at times. from the highlights i saw of yesterday's game, kohler is developing some of dhoni's captaincy genius - as evidenced by his move to spread the field to the tailenders. LOL Dhoni's captaincy is definitely overrated, but you still need to have some sort of leadership ability to make even a very good side function to its potential.......I don't rate him much as a Test Captain because of his defensive style.........but as an ODI captain......he is up there with the best.......he understands ODI cricket well and the fact that you play the format on the basis of percentages depending on the phase of play.......he has won us 2 out of 3 Major ICC ODI tournaments he has captained......His style isn't the best for T20s because the phases of play in T20 last less longer......so bash him all you want for his T20 and Test Captaincy.....but in ODIs......there are/were very few better than him......... Kohli's captaincy has definitely surprised me. It's not his tactics, but rather the fact that he has remained fairly calm.....maybe that one incident with the umpire......but other than that, it's been very civil.......

They were after every T20 match they won during the WC.........and......I don't use IPL as a basis.........anyways.......will see how he manages his batting and bowling resources in Zimbabwe......

maniac Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Chance that Dhoni and Flecther obviously are still pulling the strings here.....Kohli is only the puppet captain here,much like Dhoni when SRT,RD,VVS,Sehwag and Zak were in the squad. Kohli has it easier with more contemporary players but still :dontknow:
