Indian team looks so different without Dhoni

Despite winning the CT there were weak players in the team who are hard to justify being dropped due to the win and the mood so high, the squad just needed freshening up from the start with 5-6 new players. But todays loss is a mixture of poor bowling/fielding and general boredom about a tri series v 2 worse teams, we have always as a team been motivated more by playing the bigger boys (eng/aus tests aside!). MS was massively missed but more than that his experience, the big push for youngsters leads to this short term and even a Viru/Gambhir would have made a big difference today

Yeah we were setting the world on fire last match with our batting when Dhoni was playing. Players are just dis-interested after long CT. With or without Dhoni doesn't matter

It does make a difference. Huge gaps on the leg side when your bowlers are bowling short which was a lame field setup throughout the innings. With Kohli as the captain, they never really bothered about their fielding. Uses Jadeja way too soon in the innings. Usually before the 15th over and gets hammered and gets Aswhin into the action later into the game. Captaincy did make a difference but it had more to do with our sluggish approach.

i have seen so many situations where dhoni lets go off the pressure..we have witnessed many teams scoring 300 against us while dhoni was captaining and these lungans have made 300+ scores against us umpteen no.of times when dhoni captained and looked disinterested ..lets be honest about it

The team doesnt look motivated and why would they be ? They just won the Champions Trophy 10 days ago thrashing all the best teams in the world. They deserve a break after all that pressure and hard work. BCCI is stupid to force them to play another tri series and that too involving Sri Lanka so soon. BCCI likes to cram every gap in Indian team's itinerary with meaningless tri series and ODI series just to make as much money as possible without any room for rest.

Yes, lets do that. Its not about what Dhoni could have done here but what Kohli should't have. You can't discard his poor show in leading the side by comparing it to Dhoni's faults in captaincy. This isn't new stage for Kohli. Lets hope he amends his mistake in the next game. To add- lack of seniors in the side is costing us.

Wait - MS Dhoni may not have made a difference here but the logic that because we won those series without Dhoni and hence it doesn't make a difference is wrong.
