vishalvirsingh Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 i beleive Dhoni is Unfot so possibly he wont be playing so who wud be played and who would be dropped and who would be rested. Giving rest to BHUVI in last ODI indicates to us that possibly Selectors have decided to give rest to BHUVI.. i beleive Ishant also needs some rest as he was always below his best. ishant n bhuvi shud be rested and Umesh just came back from a rest n a holiday and hence he might be played....VK needs to play as he is in sidelines for long, shammi has just come back... good chance to select fringe pacers ...and fringe spinners too, i beleive they shud also rest ashwin and give mishra a go......and few other spinners too. Murli shud not play still....he is not a ODi material batsman just like Pujara. give rahane rayadu place in the 11....
omkarkiran Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 my team for zimbabwe tour would be.. Rohith Sharma Shikhar Dhawan Dinesh Karthik(wkt), Virat Kohli©, Rayudu, Raina, Jadeja, Ashwin/mishra/ohja, Umesh Yadav, Ishant, Bhuvi
saneindian Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 The SA A tour follows immediately after the Zim ODIs, so we may see a lot of India A players being picked for the Zim tour. May mean an India cap (and hence a potential IPL bonanza) for the likes of Unmukt Chand, Mandeep Singh, Sid Kaul, Dhawal Kulkarni and even Karan Sharma.

Dhwal Kulkarni- He is close to the bowlers that are currently represnting INDIA.. i mean ISHANT BHUVI Umesh VK...definitely better than VK and even Shammi...So he shud be given a chance. Karan..mishra ji is a bettter and senior spinner , he has not got a chance so Karan is behind.
MCcricket Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 This is a good time to bring in , Gambhir, Kaul, Pankaj, Pandey, Suyal, Pujara, as our bowling IS WEAK AND ALSO some need for opener and a good batter.
kubrickian Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Gambhir is poor against short pitch bowling. He will score runs on flat, slow tracks but on wickets where there is bounce and pace and against good pace bowlers, he will struggle. We have seen this in Aus, Eng tours and also in ODIs against Pak, Eng. The only time he did well was when the wickets didnt have too much pace or bounce. He wont rectify this unless he plays county cricket. If they just pick him by reputation or because of scores in FC, he will be found out when he plays on tracks which are helpful for seamers.

kubrickian Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 do you know of his performance against SA in SA? That was 3 years ago and he did well in a couple of innings, that's all. He was terrible recently in Aus, Eng and also at home when there was some help for seamers. Every time there was some pace and bounce in the wicket , he looked clueless and never looked close to comfortable. He is especially vulnerable against anything pitched around his rib cage. He has to go to county cricket, score runs there to make a claim for Indian side.

He shouldnt be discarded already. I think he will captain our side in the A tour most likely. It will give us an idea if he can handle those conditions or not

You cant be sure if he can handle those conditions unless he scores consistently for a season in county cricket after his failures in England and Australia.
rkt.india Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Want to see Suyal in any of the two teams. Need a new left armer and he is the best young left armer in the country after Zaheer.

kubrickian Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 i dont think any Indian player will be allowed to play county cricket for a while given the relations between BCCI and ECB It didnt stop Pragyan Ojha, Harbhajan Singh from playing there. Dhawan also had a stint in county cricket.
saneindian Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Dhawan played club cricket there like many Indian domestic players who have been playing in English summer for a long long time.
cowboysfan Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 i would avoid the starting 11 for the SA test series completely,we cant risk injuries.
