Detonator Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Thanks. I watched that drop catch, it was Strang's fault. A.Flower called for it with the gloves on but he rushed in for the catch. Lovely knock that was from SRT. Slogfest in the 90s. wasn't it the same series where Marillier invented scoop shot?
Crookbond Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 wasn't it the same series where Marillier invented scoop shot? No he did not play in Sharjah 1998 - Marillier played the scoop shot against Australia at Perth in 2001, the earliest I remember. Australia won the game by 1 run. He later played the same shot against India in 2002 (Faridabad I guess). VCc_-U82_Y0 http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/65612.html

adi B Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Shaun Udal in Mumabi test oh man that was just out of the world :hysterical: IIRC india went to lunch at 60 odd for 2,i went to my friends house(matargashti :--D,played GTA and all) ,after 2 hours i reached my home here hoping india might salvage a draw with sachin/rahul still playing only to find an old match being telecast..looked for news channels and got the biggest shock lol, udal of all people destroyed the indian batsmen :cantstop:
putrevus Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Sri Lanka winning the 1996 WC. :agree: that was no fluke honestly for a period between 1996 to 1999 SL was one of better ODI sides in the world.
thongale Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 More like 1996-8. By 1999, Gurusinghe has left, Ranatunga has lost it, and Aravinda was not at his swashbuckling self. The replacements were no where as good in ODI format.
vayuu1 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Imran Khan was Very Skill ful and Hard worker crickter Ave-24 VS India with bowl takem 100 around test wickets 1000 Around test run.s with Ave of 52 Pure All rounder performance against India Tum log to mazaak bhi nahi samajhte
carnish Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 that was no fluke honestly for a period between 1996 to 1999 SL was one of better ODI sides in the world. more like india 1983 Yes, Sri Lanka became good after that WC ... before that WC no one expected them to even compete. It was an unbelievable performance. I agree the same about India in 1983 although that Indian team had some proven members although not so much in ODIs.
velu Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I mean khan is not ordinary. He is a great bowler who used all the tricks including bottle caps. But he is hugely overrated by our padosis Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
