Steve Smith, What do you make of his leg spin abilities?

Heres another one of Warney's favourite child after Sir. Jadeja, Warne rates him highly as a cricketer and i have heard him praise steve smith allot in the past. Really surprised me with two beauties yesterday knocking over a set Ian Bell and a fighting Matt Prior with a smart delivery. If given the confidence and groomed by warne, can he be Australia's next big spinner?

i doubt it. I do rate him higher than Agar as an all rounder. Smith IMO along with Watson can become a bowler who bowls 10 overs in a day on a regular basis.

I agree you cannot make speculations based on 2 wickets, that too against England. But i remember these bunch of english cricketers are better than the previous ones when it comes to playing spin, not too long ago, they negotiated our spinners beautifully, even our leggie chawla was flattered by the englshmen. Is there a ray of hope?

I think if he is guided properly by warne ,he can definitely improve,world cricket definitely needs a good spinner,even if not in category of warne,gupte,benuad,o rilly,kumble,kadir,mushy,but deffo better than hacks like tahir and mishra Ji .

Steve Smith has turned into a batsman who would be a change fill-in bowler. He's the type of cricketer Australia needs ATM - not Warner, not Cowan and not Pattinson.

i reckon i would bowl better leg spin than him if i was a right hander.

Has potential to be a decent allrounder, judging from his spell yesterday. Was putting good revs on the ball, with most hitting red on the rpm measurements. But he still bowls plenty of half-trackers and full tosses and has to improve his control.

Can be a decent part-timer, i am more impressed by his batting ability, could be a very useful player for Australia.
