The J&K CM tweeted his anger and disappointment after the all-rounder was left out of the Indian playing XI in all five ODIs of the bilateral series. Omar Abullah on Friday expressed his disappointment when Parvez Rasool who hails from Jammu and Kashmir was not given to play in the Indian side despite being on tour with the team who managed a 4-0 series win after four matches. The J & K CM tweeted this yesterday :
Omar Abdullah @abdullah_omar Really disappointed that Parvez Rasool hasn't been given a game in Zimbabwe. Come on BCCI give the young man a chance to prove himself.
On Saturday, the 5th ODI squad saw Ajinkya Rahane coming in for Ambati Rayudu, and Shikhar Dhawan replacing Rohit Sharma. Rasool was not given a game as India are chasing a 5-0 whitewash in the series against Zimbabwe. Abdullah shortly after the match started expressed his anger and disappointment as he tweeted,
Omar Abdullah @abdullah_omar Did you really have to take him all the way to Zimbabwe to demoralise him?? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just do it at home??? #Rasool
The talented cricketer may have not got a game but has managed to trend on Twitter in India. Rasool who is still seeking his ODI debut for India will have to wait for another chance to wear the blue jersey and contribute to the Indian cricket team. Virat Kohli and Duncan Fletcher choosing to not hand Rasool a debut in this series means, Rasool fans and Omar Abdullah in particular will have to wait longer to see the all-rounder in action, playing for Team India.

So what next? Raj Thakarey tweets that Rahane must be given a chance for Marathi pride? I disagree with what Duncan and Kohli are doing. IMO Rasool should have played while Sir was rested but IMO forcing somebody to pick some one is not on. I thought we moved beyond this.

I strongly agree with that man. This young man deserved a match or two. I don't know why he was left out and to be more specific, i don't know why he was the only one without a match in the series..BCCI has to explain for this

Look i think we all can agree that Rasool should have been given a game. I just fear this guy is being used as some sort of political poster boy and many politicians can wait for him to make a debut. But nobody should ever question the choice of coach and captain. How long did Rahane for example or even Rohit wait to make their debut and still waiting in test cricket? Thats months sat on the bench

Does this idiot realize that through such actions he will only be hurting Rasool's chances?
Rasool is 24 years old. your not talking about a 30 year old on the last chance boat....

What will Abdulla gain if Rasool gets a game.
Create another crazy and needless controversy to divert attention of the common Kashmiri from the shambolic failure of his govt on development front. Stoking such controversies has always been a favorite of the Abdullah clan. Also his dad Farookh is the J&K Cricket Association chairman, would have been hailed for Rasool's debut

He'a anyway frontline spinner for the SA A tour, far more important than this series.

What is this stupid blackmail. Just to get more brownie points from his voters I assume. What if he is not selected for this ODI ? This is not the end of the road for Rasool. His chances will come. Does he know how long Rahane or some other players had to wait before they got a chance to play ?

it is disappointing actually must have been genuinely frustrating for Omar but there is no special treatment here generally non Indians ( anyone outside mumbai boundary limits) usually are made to carry drinks for 1-2 series before they get a game at times they never get a game and get discarded based on their drinks/towel carrying skill...BCCI is very skilled in predicting cricketing acumen through a non-Indian players drink/towels carrying skills.

Abdullah trying to score some points among the people by raising his voice.. its in fashion these days anyway to bash BCCI, might as well mix it up with Kashmir politics
