Dates and venues announced for 2014 India tour of England

ECB today announced the itinerary for India's tour of England next summer, which will encompass five Investec Test Matches, a five match One-Day International series and a solitary NatWest T20 International. India will play a five-match Test series in this country for the first time since 1959 with Trent Bridge, Lord's, the Ageas Bowl, Emirates Old Trafford and the Kia Oval all hosting Investec Test Matches. Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Middlesex will host tour matches against India, who last toured England in 2011 when they were defeated four-nil in the Test Series and three-nil in the NatWest Series with the NatWest International T20 series drawn 1-1. ECB Chief Executive David Collier said: "This will be the first time England has hosted India in a five-Test series in more than 50 years and the length of the series reflects the iconic status which contests between these two great cricketing nations now enjoy. "We anticipate significant demand for tickets both for the Investec Test series, and for the One-Day International series which will be the first encounter between these two countries in the 50-over format since India's triumph in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy competition at Edgbaston earlier this year. "We thank the BCCI for their support and also our international venues who between them helped bring a record number of spectators - more than 850,000 - to international cricket over the course of the season when India last toured here in 2011." would have liked another warm in between tests. We seem to have a lot of back to back tests. Too cramped.

The bcci need to carve out a home season for Indian cricket. We either play for long period at home or long periods away.

The WT20 in BD ends on April 6. IPL would begin 3 or 4 days after that and be over by 1st week of June. We could actually be in England a week earlier by say 16th or 17th June and play an extra warm up match. Hope BCCI is not thinking of a series in WI or SL between the IPL and Eng tour.

What the ECB will do is re drs, make some half hearted attempt to keep the home media happy. Then when the BCCI refuses they will say they tried and shrug the blame. ECB already are reeling for financial issues themselves. Giles Clarkes is not stupid to let an issue like the DRS come in between what is their largest revenue earner.

and they also need to fulfill broadcaster's contract as we have not played/playing enough cricket at home to earn them the revenue they will need to pay BCCI back.

but wait..they knew schedule before getting into contract no ?not getting enough home matches is bad excuse as we played 2 big test series at home and one very hyped up series against pakistan.. before that we played NZ ..infact we had big home season and im sure next year wil be same
