Anyone that has ever used an Android phone 2 years old knows that he has everything IOS7 offers and much more. It's almost stupidly obvious now to even say that Android is miles ahead of IOS in every possible aspect. I just watched the IOS7 trailer and couldn't help but laugh b/c every single thing they call "innovation" already exists in my droid RAZR which is over 2 years old.

When and how the F did this turn into Android vs iOS? :dontknow:

Yea I know but there is already and Android vs iOS thread! There are also other awwal number idiots who come and say "Android is miles ahead of IOS" - it doesn't help the IQ of the thread. The issue what people do not get is that it isn't really Android which (initially) copied iOS but Samsung that copied the iPhone. There's a difference there and now iOS also regularly copies features from Android - notification center, the new iOS push up bar is taken from Android.

i have no problem with that...people do fail to understand that samsung is not just android but also touchwiz which just sucks ui wise and copies ios badly even basic things and how it looks also all companies copy each other and try to add on top of that copy which makes whole market so much better.. but why always downplay one os and say only other one invents things? i just hate these type of fan boys.. anyway on topic this elop guy behaved like good trojan horse

Droidos never failed to amuse me :hysterical: :hysterical: The entire template and basic design of android is a flat copy of IOS :giggle: They just took original iphone's IOS looks, then turned it into android. Almost every popular app and games are originally developed for iphone, then aindroid will release it for free in playstore (or blackmarket), with ads :haha: and now the "developers" jumping up and down saying that IOS copied a phone interface, which is already an outright stealing from original IOS. ever seen the android design before iphone's release? A total laughstock :hehe:
Everyone copied Palm OS.

Microsoft buys Nokia but still has eyes on BlackBerry: Bloomberg

After acquiring Nokia’s handset business, Microsoft still has its eyes set on BlackBerry, Bloomberg reports citing anonymous sources. BlackBerry recently announced it was open to strategic partnerships including a sale and its presence in the enterprise segment could be of interest to Microsoft. The report also mentions how Microsoft rushed the Nokia acquisition, which was completed in about six months. Microsoft first approached Nokia in February at this year’s MWC in Barcelona to discuss the acquisition. Both companies were of the opinion that the two-year partnership between Nokia and Microsoft wasn’t working. Both the companies’ marketing campaigns were overlapping and Nokia’s Lumia smartphones still had just 3 percent of overall smartphone market share. Nokia’s codename in the talks was Nurmi, after the nine-time gold medal runner Paavo Johannes Nurmiknown as the “the Flying Finn” while Microsoft was called Edwin Moses, after the American track-and-field athlete. Nokia’s board met more than 50 times through summer to discuss the deal. “This transaction makes a lot of sense rationally but gets complicated emotionally,” said Risto Siilasmaa, Nokia’s chairman and now interim CEO during yesterday’s press conference to discuss the deal. The deal comes at a time when Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is already on his way out. Microsoft’s attempts to become a device and services company hasn’t been a success so far. Its Surface tablet, for instance, was a failure that cost Microsoft $900 million. Nokia was the sole handset vendor dedicated to Windows Phone and a situation, where Nokia felt that its Lumia smartphones are not worth the time and money being poured into it, would have killed Microsoft’s smartphone dreams for good.

I get a feeling that, with the rise of local device makers combined with open source OS, there is a big possibility that the mobile industry might face a crisis. Many first thought the console industry would crash, with mobile gaming and piracy, but it looks like they have sorted it out with cloud gaming and AMD's entry into consoles. Even a giant like Nokia has fallen, i think the same could happen to samsung/apple. Unless the companies learn from past mistakes. Game-Crash-of-20131-1024x512.jpg

Stephen Elop will be the next Microsoft CEO. This is a fantastic deal for Microsoft....$8 bil is super cheap and pennies for all the patents & technology Nokia possess. Elop pretty much ran Nokia to the ground...got rich and now poised to strike iron with a fat cushy job heading MS.
