no he does not..all he has to do is score runs at domestic and a games and let selectors decide about picking him at best he can make him self unavailable for opener's role and then let selectors decide what to do..
thats what hes done I think

Thing is if this was case then it should have been done while he was in team Now he should prove that he is good middle order batsman by scoring runs in domestic cricket Tbh people don't realize how bad he was in last 2 years ..in don't think older ball will be any easier for him as most of times he got out slogging to spinners at home and then there is reverse swing..in places like south Africa ball can swing at any time tbh

This is Sehwag's statistics as of September 7, 2012. Overall numbers in Tests for Virender Sehwag No code has to be inserted here. Sehwag in Tests till Jan 31, 2008 No code has to be inserted here. Sehwag in Tests from Feb 1, 2008 No code has to be inserted here. Sehwag against pace and spin in Aus, Eng, NZ, SA till Jan 31, 2008 No code has to be inserted here. Sehwag against pace and spin in Aus, Eng, NZ, SA since Feb 1, 2008 No code has to be inserted here. He has been dismissed 5 times in 47 balls of spinners - Swann, Jeetan Patel, Lyon, Vettori - even though he has scored at 7+RPO. The claim of reflexes do not add up here.

Data is little confusing but thanks for proving my point about spinners

Concentrate on the last two tables - run rate up' date=' average down. :nice:[/quote'] yeah those two tables are fine but others are labeled wrongly i think average in 2400? they should be runs also 100's and 50's are missing :hmmm:

Look at his stats since 2008 away from home are equally poor against both pace and spin and poor reflexes have a big hand in them and even against spinners, you need good reflexes, concentration. He tried to dominate against spin which his 7 rpo showed that but he could not longer do that because if veining reflexes.

Fixed.

The argument for Sehwag in the middle order is that his reflexes are no longer suitable to the opening slot due the moving ball and hence should be given a try in the middle. The argument sounds good in theory but in practice Sehwag has let himself downs against spinners while he's opening too (whatever the cause). Therefore, we may drop Sehwag down in the middle order but is unlikely to solve his bad form conundrum as it is not the moving ball which is the problem.

ofcourse scoring runs in FC is still vital.but I think hes done is put himself in line for MO spot if he scores runs. Realistically his career is over but if he can score runs in FC and rediscover form,he can be of good use in middle order imo.

He has to prove himself but I think he is a lot more effective as an opener rather than a middle order. I just don't see him as a middle order player or being an effective one.

Agree but saying moving isn't the problem is seemingly wrong because he has had problems against pace as well, averaging just 27. Problem against spin comes out more strongly because of pacers when he struggled against them he tries to make it up against spinners and gets out.

Well we can hope that a middle order slot brings about a change in his mindset which allows him to focus on settling against whatever the type of bowler is- I would hope he is given this chance, depending on his Ranji Form. Maybe he can replace SRT at 4
