Sidhoni Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Wasn't Dhawan considered ****/crap/hack just 10 months ago? :haha: Tree chopper :hysterical:
ShebbySB Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Rishi Dhawan has picked 39 wickets at an bowling avg of 14.8 & scored 311 runs at an avg of 51 with 4 half centuries.Definitely worth a shot in the A team.
cowboysfan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I think he should skip the A tour and be picked for the Indian loi team,he can't be worse than Vinay kumar.
adi B Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 How do u think 'vennai theeya velai koomar' made it into indian team? Or how did u think ami daaku ronodeb bose made it to squad? Or unadkat? They all swing and take plenty domestic wickets. Bowling at less than 130 and taking domestic wkts doesnt prove much. Send RD for A tours for a year or two first. Based on that it can be evaluated. absolutely..there is still considerable time b4 the 2015 wc where we need a 4th pacer or a fast bowling AR ,rishi should perform well on the overseas A tours and make a case for himself for that AR spot..i have seen him bowl few times in FSK,the guy has a good yorker and a slower ball, can be deceptive..surely worth a try in the odi set up
GoldenSun Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I think this guy should be sent for some A Tours to prove himself before we get a clearer view. Btw, isn't Ishant doing well in Ranji at this moment?

GoldenSun Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 He's played one game this season. What im afraid is that he will continue to have great games inn Ranji and somehow be back in the team :facepalm*..
Yantra Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 We have seen how JP Yadav, Bhangar did when given chance both had tons of runs and wicket in Ranji, Rishi and Mohit does not seems to be International class, mediocore speed and no swing they will get murdered against good apposition. look at what is happening to Ishant and Vinay both has no speed Swing. International bowlers needs to be at 135K swing/Seem bowler or 140+ Fast bowler to be successfull unless you are deadly accurate like Mcgrath.
fineleg Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Yep, jp yadav, sanjay bangar and also joginder sharma. Spin - yusuf pathan All these folks can dazzle at domestics
rkt.india Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 We have seen how JP Yadav' date=' Bhangar did when given chance both had tons of runs and wicket in Ranji, Rishi and Mohit does not seems to be International class, mediocore speed and no swing they will get murdered against good apposition. look at what is happening to Ishant and Vinay both has no speed Swing. This is what enables him to get so many wickets in domestic cricket and if he can bat decently well, I think he can be a good seam bowling alrounder for 2015 WC.

But I also feel a load of others have also never seen him play and are just going by stats, this is very dangerous thing to do. Lots of hype here

Old guy Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 He did play in the IPL for Mumbai. Yes and good thing was he did not looked nervous and looked like he belong Obviously any young bowler will get smacked but he can do all right in odis He did swing the ball in one match iirc Sent from my GT-N8000 using Tapatalk 4
ShebbySB Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 He's a crafty bowler who can swing & seam the ball, has a good yorker & a slower one. He bowls between 125-130 in the domestic matches so he'll be as quick as BK in the intl matches.Good thing is he bats well,an all-rounder in FC cricket & has done well so he should play for the Ind-A team & if he performs then we'll get a good idea abt him.If he fails then he can always improve as he's only 23.
nsareen Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Guys who say Rishi Dhawan is crap, need to understand he is of the same pace as Bhuvneshwar, probably a touch slower but he can not only swing, he can seam the ball as well. Nobody's aiming him to be the spearhead, but with domestic performances as his, needs to at least get a chance, from then on he can take his career where he wants. I have a funny feeling if ever he comes to the team , he can add lot of value to the team specially In the longer version. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ruchi49 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Rishi dhavan is a good bolwer, he has to work on his bating.hopefullhe will get his chance soon, one day he proved hisself
