Austin 3:!6 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Here is the thing. Dhawan might not get out against Hafeez...but we will score 2 overs 5 runs against him and will suck all the momentum. Also, there are no left arm seamers in Pak side (assuming Junaid not playing) so Dhawan might be cramped for room to score freely.

Having said that dhawan needs a good score under his belt in international t20. Yes he has had only three t20s on an international level. But if he fails to average atleast 20 in international t20 cricket after this world cup then hmm its time maybe to look beyond him. The best i have seen Dhawan play in the past few months as opener was when he opened v Rahane v the Afghans. I get a strong feeling Dhawan does not trust Rohit and this results in some poor shots from him.

Are they scared Dhawan will tear them apart? If bowlers role can innovate based on batsman...why not vice versa?

Austin 3:!6 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 T'20 cricket is all about innovation and surprising opponent, pretty much like chess. Moin Khan and Pak team management has clear plan in their mind. Give Hafeez 2 overs at top, see if he can take a wicket or atleast slow the momentum. Once the powerplay is finished bring Ajmal and keep some overs of Gul at death. If we change our batting order, that will make them think and need to re strategize their bowling options. Trust me in a pressure game when you have to strategize on the ground its a huge setback.
