Johnson released from India tour for Ashes prep

Mitchell Johnson, the Australia fast bowler, has been released from the limited-overs tour of India and will miss the final ODI against India in Bangalore on November 2. Johnson will return home to prepare for a possible selection in the Ashes squad, ahead of the series, which begins on November 21. Pat Howard, Cricket Australia's general manager - team performance, said that Johnson was recalled in order to help him prepare for an extensive bowling workload during the summer, which could see the bowler make a comeback to the Test squad after he missed out on the tour to England earlier this year. "Mitch has performed very well in India, however, we believe it is best for his preparation ahead of a busy summer to have him return home to increase his bowling loads in preparation for the Ashes Test window," Howard said. I will be surprised if Clarke isn't involved in taking this decision. I also think Australia have pulled one on India (particularly Yuvraj, Raina) here. The doubts have been created and now Yuvraj, Raina have no room for salvation. Epic!

Salvation through one match. We have to accept they failed. One match doesn't prove much they need to perform against him for couple of matches.
