But I am happy with the current ODI pair. And he did score a 100 against Aus, Glamorgan and against Windies recently. I know he needs to do more for a comeback but I hope Vijay fails big time.

test batting is not the same as limited overs, in tests you need to negotiate play and score of all types of bowling, in LOI you dont negotiate much because of limited time you have to score. Vijay has good temperament he should not be dropped after making 150+ score.

Although his innings was outstanding, producing that type of batting performance in the test arena is completely different. Some of Australia's bowling the other night was atrocious and that would not happen in the test arena. Seriously talented batsman, but I think his best at # 4 or 5.

Gambhir had 3 great years in all formats and has been poor outside of those 3 years, especially in test cricket. Many wanted him out when he was playing and now many want him in without really piling on the runs at FC level. Strange. Rohit should get a gig in the middle order. There's plenty of vacancy there.
