Hours after Mangalyaan completed its first stage and started orbiting around the Earth, news is coming in that the Mars Orbiter has deviated from its path and has started circling over Eden Gardens, where Sachin’s farewell test series is in progress. Ram Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 This is such a bummer. :(( Historically, spacecraft issues don’t get better with time, only worse. Its not like an overheating car engine where we can park by the side of the road, wait for the engine to cool down and start again. If there’s an issue, typically it is a symptom of a deeper, underlying problem. :((
Ram Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 We should have done what Billy Bob Thornton and Bruce Willis did in Armageddon – Launch two Mars probes at the same time, side-by-side. That way, even if one fails, the other one can save the bacon. And of course, in the end Ben Affleck would make a stunning comeback and put the orbiter in intended mars orbit. :((

Now thats the toughest part where the chinese failed. First Indian made object leaving earth's gravitation circle if succeeds, fingers crossed. If all goes well it will be a tremendous confidence boost for gslv d5 mission next month.
