Laaloo Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 viv richards? please. great player, but the guy never even played against the best bowlers because all of them were on his own team. beating up on derek pringles and other potato chip bowlers doesnt make you 'THE' greatest batsman of all time. kohli is a good player having a sick run of form, but i wouldn't call him a great player until he does something in test cricket. we've all been there before... (dhoni, bevan, yuvraj, etc.). and he is beating up on these sri lankan guys too often for my liking. they seem to give up on getting him out the moment he goes past 30, gets too easy for him ++ he also beats up on the paki chuckers a lot. I''ll wait till he does something against Australia/South Africa

rkt.india Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 The reason I say it because I saw how Kohli played against fast bowlers and I also saw how Viv Richards played against much better fast bowlers than Kohli has faced so far in his career and there is no comparison. It is not knocking down Kohli, it is just to emphasize how great VIV was and how destructive he was even in those days with those weak bats. I would have loved to see Viv face Malinga.
