Yoda-esque Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I agree. Seems like the problem clearly lies elsewhere. I'll give you a hunch. Supari cool Hehe again
Zanjeer Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 So Shami Umesh and Ishant concede 300 in an ODI and now adding Varun will make them unstoppable? u r talking as if we have tried this combo. Its my prediction that they would make an excellent bowling attack. 3 90 mph bowlers and its not easy to play no matter how strong the batting line up is. You don't have to agree with me.
Tailender Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 What do you guys think about this? Shami Umesh Varun Bhuvi / Ishant These guys can match any other bowling attack in the world.
Number Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 So Shami Umesh and Ishant concede 300 in an ODI and now adding Varun will make them unstoppable? Had SA going for 30-3 till Dhoni's braindead captaincy striked.
CG Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 If Team management believes Shami/yadav/Aaron/Ishant Have talent then back these guys ,Young bowlers will get hit and have off days .Also If we have 2 90 miles/h bowlers we have adjust our tactics to use that pace .Also Its always better to have variety in a bowling attack.
CG Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Had SA going for 30-3 till Dhoni's braindead captaincy striked. Also Catches were dropped of dekock .
rkt.india Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 So Shami Umesh and Ishant concede 300 in an ODI and now adding Varun will make them unstoppable? which do you think is a world class attack in the world right now and has not conceded 300 runs.
jf1gp_1 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 thread like these are embarrassing; we have ordinary bowlers and we dont have any special ones waiting to get a go
Asim Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 which do you think is a world class attack in the world right now and has not conceded 300 runs this often. All of'em, besides Ind...
CG Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Lol Worldclass attack could not defeat zimbabwe.
Tailender Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Worldclass attack did defeat number 1 test team for the first time in 18 months in a test match
express bowling Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 So Shami Umesh and Ishant concede 300 in an ODI and now adding Varun will make them unstoppable? To be fair to the fast bowlers, they gave a wonderful start of 28 for 3. Maintained the pressure till the time they bowled upto 17 overs. . Then the spinners and part timers came and released the pressure. We badly missed a seam bowling allrounder. Later on also, catches were dropped of Yadav and Ishant We have to give this current bunch a long run, let them settle down and they will start performing as a group with consistency. It is about giving chance to pacers who have the tools to be successful in international cricket. All of them won't succeed but even if a few do, we will have a world class attack. Shami, Umesh, Aaron, Bhuvi, Suyal, Pankaj, Shukla , Pandey are such bowlers. We need to choose them -- more importantly, not choose the pacers without potential --- give them the proverbial long rope and they will succeed.

Totally agree In fact last match seamers put us in charge, spinners came on and did okish, may be 4 to 5 an over. We were still on top, them raina and kohli came on and runs flowed with boundaries, batters got going and ...... We have the potential for great attack, with right selections, grooming , backing and tactics.
ShebbySB Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 We need a good, tall and bouncy fast bowler in the mix. That will make the shorter, skiddy fast bowlers more effective. All our fast bowlers are medium height. Shami, Aaron, Umesh, Suyal, Tall pacer would be a good pool of fast men. They can then bowl together and build a good attack in 1 year. +Shukla
vayuu1 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Tall and bouncy: pankaj and Anwar Ahmed sent from dil se
ShebbySB Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 We've a genuine swing bowler in Bhuvi. A tall bouncy bowler in Ishant(if he bowls like the way he did in the last ODI) 3 genuine quick bowlers in Shami,Umesh & Aaron. Zak will play for another season so we've got a class left arm seamer. Now we need to groom this lot & guide them as Zak won't be there for too long. What we need is a good left arm seamer & for me Suyal is that guy.Shukla has raw pace so if he does well he too can be considered for the LOIs as his FC record is very poor.Ishwar Pandey & Pankaj Singh are 2 good tall, bouncy pacers in the domestic circuit who can replace Ishant but both are 130-135 ish.

Since when has pissu become a swing bowler, pandey is not a lively bowler, pankaj is fine ,we should have groomed Anwar Ahmed sent from dil se
express bowling Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Tall and bouncy: pankaj and Anwar Ahmed sent from dil se They don't seem to be in the picture at all. Not even in A teams.
