On one hand a bunch of people he can't recognize, on the other hand Anne Hathway on a secluded planet that needs to be populated with human offsprings - I don't think the choice was difficult. Besides, the man spent immeasurable (literally immeasurable) amount of time in the space with Anne Hathway, away from the rest of humanity, while both managed to retain their youth - that is a sign not to ignored.

The bond between Matt Mc and his daughter is apparently so strong that despite the huge distance and time between the two, he is able to communicate with her. But when they actually meet her, he's distracted and communicates with her for a few minutes. I found that rather laughable. Further is there tangible proof that the lady is alone in that planet? of all, that was apparently the most habitable one.

We were able to obtain an exclusive first look. Here’s what we learned: * All details of the issue’s layout are unsatisfyingly explained in a 4,000-word foreword written by Michael Caine. * One of the first essays is begun by Katie Holmes but finished, far more capably, by Maggie Gyllenhaal. * All the other women who contributed to the issue are dead. It takes about things in science jargon which is hard to understand at time say for example at start Plan A formula which is about use Quantum physics it doesn't explain what it is exactly is he trying to do Then there is talk about dimension is in black-hole he is probably using time as dimension like length or width so he can move along time lines like time machine which is not clearly mentioned and many other things
coffee_rules Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Spoilers Below! Interstellar - spellbound! A complete movie. Made my day. Great script, acting, story and good fictional theory. As always Nolan classic with a depressing tale to start with and it gets worse with Matt Damon's character. I felt like killing him myself, if I could transport into the movie's dimension of space and time. Nolan could have spoiled the ending otherwise (Like Ridley Scott's Prometheus) , but left it better. S.O was crying nuts out, I had to hold back a few times as well. After this I am rating Matt Mc over CBale. My rating order of this era actors would start with DDL, MM, CBale, Light years, LDC! There I said it. And somebody please start funding NASA!

No parent wants to see their kid die. As a parent, that is the worst thing to witness. It makes sense for his life to have some objective instead of being around his dying daughter. And his girl, who loves him so dearly,didn't bother to communicate with her dad till she was in her late 30s or early 40s. Some kids have very strong bond and will not let go. She was angry abut that and thought her dad abandoned her to pursue glory. She starts communicating only because her age coincided with her dad's when he left on her birthday and that reminds her of the discussion they had. Fist fights between the two guys :(( on an extra terrestrial planet - use of cliched 'deranged scientist who's been alone too long" - worst being the scientist, who knows how to fly spacecrafts, not bothering to check whether proper coupling has been made. And convenient dispatching of two co-scientists in utterly frivolous ways to continue with the oldest cliche in such movies, i.e only the main protagonists will survive.. :(( What is wrong with you? This is how fiction works. You have a plot, create misery and problems and have a solution in the end. It is as cliche'ed as giving a virus to an alien and kill it. In Prometheus , they have the same concept of having future beings trying to communicate with present. But, the whole mission becomes pointless in that story. Everybody dies and the heroine ends up circulating space looking for land to live. At least, there is some kind of a solution here, in the end. The deranged scientist didn't bother to check proper coupling was made, he was restricted to operate. He took a risk to enter even when coupling was not perfect. He flew auto-pilot, if they didn't override auto-docking, he could have landed on the mothership and would have flown away. That was a fantastic piece of filmy action, same in all kinds of movies from Spielberg to James Cameron. Inexcusable was the rationale to check out a planet with a haphazard orbit around a ****ing black hole. Who the **** would do that? Especially when aware about time dilation and stuff? They could've sampled the other two planets before going down this route. That would make logical sense. The pick was done because Anne Hathaway had picked the first one by mistake, Cooper was mad at her for missing the opportunity of meeting his family. He made it a personal choice to go Mann's planet and influenced the other guy to vote for him. He thought she picked the second planet to meet her love. The wormhole leads to a planet near the black hole, because that is how they could understand the laws of 5th dimensional physics, that could lead humanity out of earth for mass space travel. This is for plot convenience in a fictional story. Absolutely zero character development. End of the movie, we don't even know anything about anyone apart from McCaughney and his family. Not even Anne Hathaway's character. There are movies with only few characters. You want a glimpse of everybody's life in the movie? Enough was shown about Matt's char and his bond with his daughter. Reduction of the most crucial aspect,i.e how did they find answers to all establishing the Saturn colony by making offscreen reference about some utterly ridiculous **** about TARS falling through the blackhole and finding solutions to everything. Seriously? Is that a treasure trove out there? Read the explanation of the movie in various sources. Plan was to solve the equations needed to understand all dimensions of physics needed to manipulate gravity that would enable humans to migrate out of earth en masse. Cooper has access to his daughter's bedroom at all points in her life. Ignoring the worrying aspect of him peeping at his own daughter, why couldn't he continue to try and tell her much earlier. He had unfettered access to all seconds of his daughter's life. Jeex, whata waste of time. What is worrying about looking into your daughter's life? I don't understand why it is worrying. He had to communicate the theory to the grown woman after she has been trained by Dr. Brand about his limited theories. What will he tell the girl about dimensions of physics?

All they did was shoot in some lousy decrepit hangar. How could the director not throw in a few songs shot on Mars, the moon, and an item number on the asteroid belt, where the hero wears yellow pants and a pink shirt. Amateur stuff from Nolan.

What??? :facepalm: Where are the future beings in Prometheus?? Heroine is not searching for land, she is heading to the Engineer's planet.

That's what I call a real waste of time.

Those who saw alien can guess easily that the rich man won't survive, considering he is accompanied by an android.

I found Prometheus very boring compared to Alien/Aliens. I am surprised at people liking Prometheus over Interstellar. A washed up Ridley Scott, he needs to retire.
