After having the opponents on their knees at 24/2, pathetic Steyn, Morkel and Tahir let them get to 250+ at the loss of only 5 wickets! Absolutely no killer instinct! More: bowled a boundary ball too often, why short of length, why did bowl on leg side... And our great captain - less the said about him the better. he brought his pet Tahir on when Rahane was new at the crease. Again when Morkel was creating pressure, he removed him to get Duminy on! absolutely senseless! ..... .... .... ... ... .. . . I am sure there would have been multiple wrist slitting threads of this variety by now if SA was batting first and had identical score / fall of wickets!
ThePhenomenal1 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 You raise a good point about tahir but dhoni does this all the time. He has hardly ever gone for the kill and brings in kohli/raina and gives opposition chance to settle in. Maybe that's why there's a lot more criticism for that.

I think it was largely to do with fitness of their bowlers methinks. Kallis was just putting the ball there. Philander was rendered ineffectivye. Steyn got carmps. Morkel can't bowl forever.
