From 284/2 after 78 on day three to 315/3 after 93, i.e 31 runs off 15 overs is fast scoring for you? By the 100th over it was 327/5, so 43 runs off 22 overs with the loss of three wickets.
I think that phase proved more costly than initially thought...they should have done a better job then.i wanted them to bat sa out of the match as the ground has previously shown it gets more easier. perhaps the batsmen would been a bit more negative on the final day if they had no chance of winning at all.when there is hope, you never lose motivation. take out that little chace of hope and they may have lost some motivation.

Exactly, I was expecting India to bat South Africa out of the game before lunch, and India did just the opposite. May be it was the new ball, but still the loss of momentum cost India dearly in the end. 458 was still a superb target, but India had the opportunity to put on 500+ since they were cruising at 300/2 at one stage. 500 would have batted SA out of the match and they would not even consider chasing it.

450 is not the mammoth total as it seems. The pitch had eased out comfortably and the outfield here is very lush. Indian batsmen scored 420 here against Steyn, Philander and Kallis and their attack looked innocuous which is rare. Surely, given enough overs, SA batsmen are capable of scoring 450 against Shami, Ishant and Zaheer in their home conditions. They had to preserve wickets and score at around 3 RPO which is not a difficult task on this track.

Every guy fought hard even if we won have lost today I would have been proud but still lesson to learn is we need one more fast bowler in place of spinner and Umesh yadav seems to be perfect candidate as he has pace and can just give one more dimension to our attack
