We have seen again and again how even talented batsmen do not last in international cricket without guidance or mentoring. We have examples of our bowling in front where without guidance they fall by the wayside. It is not a coincidence that whenever India has clicked as a unit, most times Zaheer has been in the side But go on, keep ignoring this fact. Just assume talented bats who succeed in international cricket fall from skies. IMO those extra years which Dravid and then Sachin stayed went a long way in grooming these youngsters, both on the field and in the dressing room/nets
