gphfaruk Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 I think it's a good move to drop Ashwin from the team as he is not a great spinner outside sub-continent. But Ojha should have been given a chance instead of Jadeja. Anyway, I found a website about how to change the server name in teamspeak 3. Has anyone have used this before? Does it work?
Marut Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Jadeja can bat, so we have not weakened our batting.
Pagalpanti Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Ojha has similar problem to Ashwin, he bowls around 80-85 kph, which is slow for pitches like these. Jadeja is more around 88-94 kph and also with his drift and natural variations a better pick. Batting im not convinced he'll contribute much but still a better option than Ojha.
urbestfriend Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Agree...Ojha is much better bowler than Jadeja..Jaddu is ok as 5th bowler , he doesn't give away any runs and strangle the batsmen ..But if we have decided to go with 4 bowlers , it should have been ojha. Dont understand why we need batting from Jaddu, when we have 7 batsmen..If we want a draw, why not play 10 batsmen, lol?
JourneyMan Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Jaddu has been our best test bowler this year. Agreed, it was on Indian pitches, but it's more than just the pitch. The line he bowls gives non-subcontinental batsmen all sorts of trouble.
vvvslaxman Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Inky pinky ponky.. we cannot categorically conclude who would do better here. In such a scenario batting and fielding ability of Jadeja comes into play. Imagine Jaddu effecting a run out like Rahane when needed. He is capable.
CG Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 U cannot play with 5 batsman in sa.Jadeja can score some runs so its a sensible decision. Also jadeja hammers the ball in to the pitch and gives less time.On these type of pitches it may be good tactic.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 i'd rather go with a guy who's taken lots of wickets this year in tests and odis. Ojha is quality but we can't risk him with his pace. I rate him better than ashwin actually but jadeja is the better option here with batting, fielding and bowling.

Ojha has many tricks and better wicket taking bowler.

Marut Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 what has Ojha done abroad?has he gone on A tours :hmmm: Ojha has county experience. Ideally, we need a bowler who bowls faster in SA. Jadeja may be better here.
urbestfriend Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 what has Ojha done abroad?has he gone on A tours :hmmm: Played county season and done very well.
Lord Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Played county season and done very well. even Tahir does well there.their domestic bats struggle a lot v spin
SLICKR392 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Played county season and done very well. Chawla hammered them with both bat and ball there.
Gunner Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 No, Jadeja's the better choice. Highly accurate and doesn't chuck.
sandeep Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Maybe. But allrounders are hard to keep out.
fineleg Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 on this pitch - people bowling in 135 also not so effective. The times Steyn and Morkel threatened on this Durban pitch, both were steaming in close to 143-146+ Seeing that, Umesh Yadav's pace may be sorely missed in Durban when India bowls with two 130-133 bowlers.
Ghost Buster Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Ojha has performed mostly on spinning tracks. He doesnt have a good armball which is vital for any leftarm spinner.
urbestfriend Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Ojha doesn't have arm ball? :cantstop:
