There was seam movement, bounce, swing, and most importantly reverse swing. This is a dry pitch, has turn and bounce for spinners. Will assist Jadeja. So it is a decent pitch

ABDV was gathering the ball above his chest. It sure is not as bland as Rajkot pitch. It is still faster than most of the Indian pitches. Faster and bouncier than Adelaide oval

Cricket has been played on snow, even in mainstream matches. During winter in England, there is snow in cricket grounds, whenever matches are held.

Durban in the 90s was quicker. But in the last 3 tests it is not that quick. Infact all over the world it has been the case. Even Perth has become flatter. Atleast this pitch had some teeny tiny movement, reverse. That one had nothing. yet England lost it.

SA bowled lot of peach of deliveries on this pitch, something you can' t do say in Chepauk or Gwalior no matter how hard you try. But this is kind of surface if you put in effort you will get something out. Not a totally bland pitch as you seem to suggest. If Indians had started chasing those slightly outside the off stump delivery this piitch would have been hailed as green top. Deep down SA commies know this pitch has something that their pacers can extrac.t Infact Steyn and Morkel did extract something. They wont admit though. Philander accurate line and length was testing as well.

BCCI didn't pay them but CSA will earn more money if the match goes 5 days not 3. There is a financial incentive and it becomes magnified when India are in town.

It was boring to watch Saffer bowlers toil on this docile pitch (except when they tried round the wicket short-pitched stuff). I hope our trundlers find some reverse swing when they bowl else it's going to be a boring draw.

They toiled last match as well. England got owned even more flat wicket at the Adelaide oval. SA had overcast conditions in their favor today in the afternoon. So they did have some assistance. They had pace, they could generate bounce.

Also longer indian team stays, with the money they make and spend on shopping will boost s.a economy. With pak, $200 match fees will mean more expense just having them for lodging and food lol

Durban has been the same for few years now. I don't know why we are complaining. The spicy quick pitches of the 90's are the things of the past as far as Kingsmead is concerned.
