Probably not. The Kiwis have been asking for extremely pace-friendly pitches and I don't think Shami,Ishant, Zak are the equal of Boult, Southee, Bracewell, Wagner. Our batting is doing well, but I expect the law of avgs to catch up with Che. Furthermore, McCullum and co have Bradmanesque records against us - Williamson, McCullum, Taylor and Ryder.

it'll be a close series with the form that Taylor and the fast bowling quartet is in... India shouldn't get complacent or they might just lose. Having said that, India will cash in big on Sodhi, so in that regard they have an edge.

I think the boys played out of their skins in this series and still lost 1-0, and were a couple of big hits away from losing 2-0. I think we will see normal business resumed and more thrashings to follow.

While it is a good idea to try Umesh Yadav in NZ, it is funny how people think he will be the messiah / savior ? I think we should give him a couple of series uninterrupted run, but he is going to struggle in his first few matches at the very least. He is not in great form, and his bowling is wayward currently. Play him by all means. But expecting him to deliver you wickets in his first few matches may not pan out that way. He might actually be very expensive 12-0-65-0 types by middle of a day, and may get a few more overs before the day ends.

he solves things in many ways he is genune strike bowler and no he is n messiah but one thing he does is on his days he picks wickets in clusters and and takes no time and his strike rate proves this give him conditions with swing and he will make life difficult and attack over all ooks lot better with genuine wicket taker taking place of ishant who cannot buy wicket he wont be steyn but he will chip in with 2-3 wickets every time cos of his bowling style and he always have until now also being expensive in tests he would go for 4 rpo at best obviously you lose some control but we are not really replacing glen mcgrath here we are replacing ishant sharma who bowls first ball on leg stump and last ball of over wide of off stump:winky:

No one thinks that. Its just he will pose some questions to batsman and will be big improvement on Ishant and zak. But am glad you say give him 2 series, totally agree Shami needs someone to bowl in tandemn with to create pressure. Shami will take more wickets with support and pressure from both ends

Expensive is only a problem if no wickets. If Umesh can do 12-0-70-3 then go for it! Yes dsr - he should be persisted with and hopefully he can develop. The 127-130 bowlers do not scare anyone in Intl cricket. Need a minimum of 135. Even Philander (who is a great by virtue of accuracy) was more successful and took wickets after he cranked up the pace to 135+
