express bowling Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 why do you think it is not doing that, it is having NCA and see the Quotes of Varun Aaron how he was looked after his back surgery and how much support he got from BCCI. Why heck do you think it is paying foreign coaches for, they are not chopping and changing coaches at the drop of hat like Pakistanis, they are giving both captain and coach time to implement their views which is not a bad thing . The biggest problem in Indian cricket till Ganguly was constant captaincy change due to politics.Captains were changed almost series wise, nothing good is going to come out from it. They have MRF academy also , I dont know what else you need, fast bowlers don't grow on trees and in India we never had that culture. Indian play most no of A tours and under 19 cricket is a very big deal what more you want from BCCI. Continuing with Dhoni is one wrong they are doing I agree but if you view from selectors and BCCI angle this fellow Dhobi has won everything not just for Team India but also for his IPL team so this fellow is doing something right so they are reluctant to change that fellow. What do you think Aaron is going to say ? Cricket observers were writing about a possible delays in Aaron's operation by 4 to 6 months because of lack of proactiveness. Looking after pace bowlers does not mean just treating their incurred injuries. It means having a system of pacer management specially ... because they are especially prone to injury. Not enough sporting pitches. Talent search leaves a lot to be desired. A few years back, even smaller towns were not searched. Finding talent at all costs is missing. Having facilities and utilizing them to the fullest are not reall the same. It us not as if BCCI is doing nothing. They obviously have done something. But not as much as they could have, given their means. After all, not having wicket taking bowlers is our biggest problem and a more than average effort is required to yield results. p.s- Is the MRF pace foundation now under BCCI ? Initially it was stated by the tyre company MRF, as the name suggests.
Number Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 One of them is Zimbabwe. WI and NZ are pretty weak' date=' so it's possible to win there even without fast bowlers. Pitches in WI favor spinners as well. That just leaves 3 countries - why bother?[/quote'] So true. We should take these games as a preparation and experience.

How many good spinners do we have anyway unless the wicket is turning square ? Bangladesh is weak too and we can cancel them with Zimbabwe. So , it is 5 out of 7 and the % becomes higher. :--D
King Tendulkar Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 What do we do ? Our captain, upon his arrival to South Africa, announces that as we do not have any bowler who can bowl 145 k or 150 k, we can forget about pace and bounce. Did he forgot about Umesh or was he trying to tell him that you are not in my scheme of things ? It was a ridiculous and demeaning statement which speaks about his intent. Infact, even Shami can bowl 145 k. Most captains would have promoted the presence of two 140 k+ bowlers in their attack if they had Umesh and Shami. Staggering comments from dhobi I am of firm belief our pace attack will continue to be pathetic until dhobi mofo is removed I just dont get him. Does he not want to be remebered as great captain who won overseas, why is so anti pace? Its just weird. When talking about oppo like Kallis praises his pace, even quotes his speeds. When selcting for India does not give a damnn and almost mocks pace and does not pick fast bowlers. When shammi blew windies away with quality fast bowling, I remeber after game he said most important thing was shammi was accurate. It was like he was scared or did not want to say, yeah shammi bowled real fast and that was great in blowing them away along with good areas

Initially it was stated by the tyre company MRF, as the name suggests. it is not just Aaron' case , yuvraj was also looked after.these players are being given very good care. Just because there are no tangible results to see does not mean they are not trying, They have replaced a great batting line up with very few hiccups. Why is it we are placing the total blame at the feet of BCCI and none at players both past and present. The fricking bowlers none of them have shown motivation to be the best have you seen guys like RP Singh, who just become fat slobs and unfit. They are content with riches they got and not willing to work hard how can you blame BCCI for that, it has pampered these guys. Everybody who is reaching the Indian team is showing some pace and talent but they are not sustaining it so finding talent is not the issue. On top of it we have guys like Ishant Sharma who refuse to become better. See Australia for example they won Ashes without any new talent, it is just Johnson rediscovered himself.Heck He did it by playing IPL so whom do you credit his success. The question with BCCI is they are finding fast bowlers but none of them are sticking, whom should we assign that blame. As fans we are asking why these guys are not sticking, BCCI must be asking the same. Fast bowling is hard and unnatural thing to do, once these fellows are reaching Indian team and getting enough money these guys are simply not putting in the work to improve. How come Pakistan are producing fast bowlers they play on pitches which are also dead. Our spinners like Ashwin also do not want to do any work they are content to let pitches do it for them so whom do you blame BCCI or Ashwin.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 BCCI is to blame for their poor pitches that demotivate bowlers, cause injuries and force defensive mindsets. IPL is a catch-22: it can bring a bowler back but also injure them. Can make bowlers like RP uninterested in fighting in test matches

Actually bcci cut off ties with mrf and discouraged fast bowlers from going to the mrf pace academy back in 2008 despite the fact that fast bowlers around the world were going their. It took 5 years to realize how dumb their decision was and made up with the academy.
alexander Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Mixed bag - failed to win a single game, including the tour game. :hysterical:
FischerTal Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 ^ 4-0 with 5-0 on the cards for Pommies. add that to 3-0 from the UAE. :cantstop:

I have not seen even Chris Martin getting trembled like that :cantstop:

Also check what Yuvraj did to Broad :winky: or Raina scored like 5 fifties in a row against your trundler. He smoked Brett Lee for six in world cup . They might be weak. But not timid. One guy left the tour with depression because of Johnson. We are not like that.
rkt.india Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 why do you think it is not doing that, it is having NCA and see the Quotes of Varun Aaron how he was looked after his back surgery and how much support he got from BCCI. Thing is NCA has only been limited to a rehab center now rather than a breeding point of new gen cricketers. Instead we have imported coaches with Indian team, I would appoint them at NCA to nurture talent from lower levels. I do not think a bowling coach can really coach a bowler once he starts playing international matches. There is not enough time for that and if he tries to do, we will see another Irfan, MUnafs, Ishants.
Vijy Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 :two_thumbs_up: Yes, because Indians are famous for their ability to play pace bravely. #Ganguly #Raina #Yuvraj :hysterical: I say: Tendulkar Dravid Gavaskar It would be silly and churlish if you claim that these three were afraid of fast bowling. I'f take these two guys above any other English batsman of the last 30 years or even more. Heck, you'd need to go all the way back to Barrington.
