Highest run getters:- Player Matches Runs HH Khadiwale 8 930 KM Jadhav 8 863 SS Tiwary 7 854 FY Fazal 8 845 GH Vihari 8 841 YV Takawale 8 839 NV Ojha 7 835 KL Rahul 7 777 Jiwanjot Singh 8 698 DB Ravi Teja 8 694 Highest wicket takers:- Players Matches Wkts R Dhawan 8 49 Pankaj Singh 8 39 JJ Bumrah 8 38 VV Dabholkar 8 38 Amit Yadav 7 37 Anureet Singh 7 35 Jalaj Saxena 8 35 RV Dhurv 8 33 S Beigh 8 33 HS Sharath 6 31 Among the bowlers I'll draft Rishi,Pankaj & Bumrah in the A team.Kedar Jadhav is a contender for the ODI middle-order,I believe he can replace Raina pretty well.We also want a 3rd opener for tests & 1 among Jiwanjit,Fazal,Khadiwale & Rahul should be considered according to the A tour performances.Vihari is an young guy who shd be in the A team.Ojha should be picked ahead of Saha.Saurabh Tiwary is a hack in my eyes so should not be considered unless he proves himself for a longer amount of time. At best he should be in the A team for LA matches.

Why Top batsmen? India already has a settled batting order. They were all top batsmen of Ranji before they got picked bar Vijay who is doing well anyway. It is the bowling that needs a bit of revamping.

A lot of Group C players, we need to see their performance with a bag of salt, as the teams like Tripura, Services, Assam are pretty mediocre. Some cricket clubs in Bombay/Chennal/Delhi/Bangalore can beat those teams.

Vihari is doing very well, and I rate him quite highly in the longer format. Jadhav is strictly a ODI player who must be given a chance in the international ODI side. Fazal and Tiwary don't offer anything new, and are mostly doing well primarily this season. Jiwanjot has had a mixed season, but done quite well on the whole. Khadiwale is presently a one-season wonder. I rate Rahul quite highly in Tests, along with Vihari in that list. Ojha played a few matches and is clearly short of international class. Amongst the bowlers, just who is this Anureet Singh? Decent career stats and very good season stats. Dabholkar is yet another SLA, and we don't need more of them. Sharath and Bumrah are both promising prospects. Pankaj has been doing very well for a long team, and he should aready have been in the team. Dhawan's record is impressive and he must play a lot more 'A' games. Amit Yadav is a prospect who is never discussed enough, but his avg as a spinner in India is far better than nearly any other spinner around. He can bat a bit too. Saxena is another player who should be in the 'A' teams.

Tiwary averaged 98 in 2010 season in Ranji trophy and this season he played in a stronger group and carried his team's batting alone.

And he wasn't given enough chances in the ODI squad where he also had a decent record. However, seeing his recent performances in the IPL over last 2 seasons, I feel that he doesn't have enough in him to be an international batsman. Now, using IPL form to make judgments on someone's FC record is very silly, and I realize that. Since I haven't seen him actually play this season, this is all one has to decide what sort of a batsman he is. It is possible he's improved a lot, in which case he should play for the 'A' sides.

He can be our abdv hahah
:hysterical: Or a Sanga. Or a Flower. Not a Gilly, since Gilly was a lower middle-order bat in Tests.

Abdv actually opened for South Africa :--D
True. I wonder if there is anything he hasn't done? Top order bat, middle order bat, excellent fielder, agile keeper, can captain, etc. Needs to learn spin (off and leg) and bowl some medium pace too to undertake virtually every task around.

Vihari is quite young... only time will tell if he can keep up his form. Although Jadhav is getting a bit "old", I'd really like to see him tried out at 5 in ODIs. He has the avg of Dhobi/Kohli (50+) and the SR of Yusuf Pathan, Viru in List A matches - a top combination.
