Can he consistenly bowl 4 overs at the end of innings in ODI? If so, he can be a shoo-in for WC2015 at Australia...we will see.

Also seems to have found his rhythm back, he was always a 133+ bowler and not a 120 one In a match where the opposition scored almost 300 and all major bowlers from his team went for over 6, his economy was below 4. He has adjusted well in the Test mould and I'm sure he will do well in the ODI format," Ganguly said. "Similarly Zaheer is must-needed in the bowling attack. He's no doubt the find of Indian cricket as I've said earlier," he said. Ganguly hoped that Bengal pacer Ashoke Dinda will make a comeback after his Ranji performance this season. "I hope Dinda will get a chance this year. He is good in his length and line." Ganguly also hailed Kohli who scored his 18th century to keep India in the hunt in their chase of 293 before being bundled out for 268 to trail 0-1 in the five-ODI series. "He is no doubt the best one-day batsman in the world at the moment. He has scored runs in all parts of the world. But the target proved too much in such conditions. In India, it would have been easy," Ganguly told a Bengali news channel. Bengal might be staring at an innings defeat against Maharashtra in their Ranji semifinals in Indore, but the city's favourite cricket icon said Laxmi Ratan Shukla should not lose heart after their commendable performance in the Ranji season. "It's really unfortunate, the match seems to have gone out of their hand. It seems toss became crucial. But they should rejoice about their performance this season. Hope they go forward from here," he said.

Overall, I think we don't need to panic. There are still matches left and NZ weren't exactly brilliant, so winning the ODI series is quite realistic. "I hope Dinda will get a chance this year. I like Mohammad Shami's bowling, but for some reason, I am still a bigger fan of this guy since he made his debut than any other Indian seamer. Yes you can come and call him trundler and shyt, but he is the best in INdia I believe. Even on crappy 350 run pitches, he will probably our most trust worthy bowler. Yes more than Mohd. Shami or anyone.
Silva Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Imo Rahane opening pujara at 4 and rohit at 5 in place of raina is the best squad for bouncy flat pitches of new Zealand and australia. Not ideal because rohit is still their but I am not sure about rayudu and co. We have to go with 4 pacers plus jadeja as well. Arron shami and bk are obvious picks but probably need to look for a substitute for Ishant if he keeps bowling mid 120s kph.

Now i disagree about odis. i feel we have enough bowlers but they aren't being played. We need a new captain first and foremost. Our bowlers aren't being rotated unless they get whacked and dropped. Sad times..

Ishant on the other hand.. spoilt, complacent, jealous, worse than trundlers, heck he is a trundler! Was so happy to see bhuvi was bowling faster, and sickened to see ishant stoop to a new low.

He struggles against short deliveries, deliveries directed at his rib cage, pokes outside off stump and gives catch practice to slips. He struggled against pacers before he was dropped. He has to play more county cricket to rectify his flaws.

If u look at odi records you will see gambhir was doing better than what Raina is doing right now or have been doing since 2 years now ... I have never really been hurt with team losing but it's things like this which makes watching unbearable ..
