In addition he has issues like outswingers, inswingers, unable to keep the ball down while pulling, unable to rotate strike etc etc. yes. he is a champion double century maker.

Infact one of the test that India won in England was because of his 5 for 40. This guy is a bit part bowler. Roger Binny even opened the innings for India with bat. So he was more than handy.

GolGappe Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Few changes I'd consider: Promote Rahane to opening slot and move Rohit to number 6. Drop Ishant Sharma for Aaron. Drop one of the spinners for Binny to see if he offers anything. I'd give slightly longer rope to Dhawan as India's batting has been under enormous pressure because of 300+ chases and Rohit's inability to take some scoring pressure off Dhawan. Honestly, these are all cosmetic changes and may lead to minor improvement. Overall, we need a change of guard. Fletcher and gang have added very little to India's fortune at home or away. If performance was the sole criteria, the coaching squad should have been fired long ago. We've gotten the most out of Dhoni as skipper. It's time to bring in a new man with new ideas in atleast one of the formats.

I6MTW Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 2 changes. Binny in place of Ashwin. Another quick in place of Ishant. Pandy in place of Ashwin, Aaron in place of Ishant. Now 4 quicks and Jadeja. Raina should bat at 7. Dhoni at 5. Rohit at 6 for now. Jadeja at 4.(Best spot for him, he can construct his innings responsibly and accelerate at the end). This will help groom and develop him as an all-rounder. Kohli at 3. Dhawan and Rahane opening. Plus we would have Bhuvi another all-rounder potential at 8. This would be an almost perfect squad.
