Sex with a minor is considered statutory rape in many societies including many "developed" ones with "modern" culture. A 15 years old does not know her own good, does not understand the consequences of sleeping with somebody. She is not mature enough to take complex decisions on her own. That is why her guardians do it for her. The same applies to the decision to have sex as well. If an adult man sleeps with a minor woman, it should be rightfully considered rape. 16 seems the right age to me to draw the line. Is it applied the other way round too?if adult woman sleeps with minor boy can she be charged with 'rape' as well?:hmmm:

What I am saying is the boy could also be minor and there are plenty of cases where minor boys and girls engage in sexual activity.Do you think in that type of cases it is ok to send boy to jail?

There are certain body-types that hide pregnant bellies pretty well under clothing, especially if their lower belly swells more and droops. Coupled with the general weight gain around the thighs, buttocks & breasts & some intelligent clothing, these pregnancies can be made to look like 'she just got fat and put on 30 pounds'. I have a friend actually where both the times she got pregnant, you would not notice it even till her delivery. She would just look all-round plumper & dress in a way where it hid it so well that pretty much everytime she told someone she is pregnant, it used to be 'oh, did you just find out/when did you find out?' and she'd say 'I am six months pregnant!'.

I dont care how old she is. Even rats make the basic effort to 'save their babies'. Even a 12 year old girl has more situational awareness than a freaking rat! A parent who kills their own child cannot be excused in almost all cases and this case definitely is inexcusable. I don't care how shocked or embarassed or scared you are from an unwanted pregnancy. Terminating the baby is murder and as wrong as it comes. Just about the only instance i can think of the 'give them a break' argument having any merit whatsoever towards a parent killing a child is when they end up suffocating the baby trying to muffle them while trying to hide/run from people who otherwise will kill them for sure ( nazis and jews for eg). I dont know how old her fiance was and if there was rape or not. But the only thing clear-cut from this thread is that sorry excuse for a human being and an even sorrier excuse for a mother deserves to go spend a few decades in jail for baby murder.

You are expecting an behavior of an adult in a minor discounting the trauma she must have gone through that made her throw her own baby! I am expecting the level of behaviour a cat,dog, rat- virtually EVERY mammal displays, which is coming from a much lower cognitive skills of a 12 year old human being,nevermind 16. This is not about doing the right thing in the sense of 'morals', where its 'morally right' to return someone's wallet without taking all the cash first ( which would be our basic instict). This is about doing the right thing from the most basic instinct that even an animal displays better than this sorry excuse for a human being- a mother protecting its spawn. She needs to rot in jail for killing her baby. I'd make exception if she had a long standing history of serious mental health issues but barring that, there is absolutely no excuse. No amount of 'shock or indignity' makes the normal human mother kill her baby. At best, they leave the baby at some orphanage or grow a pair and face the world.
