Old guy Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Kohli is very strong through legside and also drives well.So it was a good plan to bowl short of good length and outside off ' date='He is not exactly the best cutter going around so it was a ploy which nz will try in future matches.[/quote'] Thing is he improves quickly..I can bet on Kohli handling him and smashing same balls in next game cos that is the reason he is so good he will never forget failure and improve on it
Number Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 ^^ Also he drives very well so they didn't try to bowl full.
CG Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Thing is he improves quickly..I can bet on Kohli handling him and smashing same balls in next game cos that is the reason he is so good he will never forget failure and improve on it Yup he changed his backfoot play to improve his short pitch game and he rolls his wrist and looks so assured against short ball at body and controls it down instead of hitting in the air like dhawan, raina.
CG Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Cricket is great for all those little things.Thats what is missing in the current indian team diff plans for batsman. We go in generic plans like bowl full and hit the stumps ,do not bowl short.
ExpressPace Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 oh my bad i was blinded by ur performance in zimbabwe:(( How about our recent performance in SA as compare to no. 1 Team? :finger:
vvvslaxman Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 How about our recent performance in SA as compare to no. 1 Team? :finger: Dude INdia went there without any practice or anything. WIthin 2 days after landing they were up against SA. Pakistan was playing SA all year that even Amla got sick of playing agianst you lol. you guys got your sh** canned in UAE right? Bottomline is ICC take all such things into account and come out with ranking. Sure we lost to SA in SA. We beat them in CT in neutral condition.
Old guy Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 How about our recent performance in SA as compare to no. 1 Team? :finger: Which one? Where u got white washed and juniad got injured while opening the door ?
Cricket_Hacker Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Crossing fingers for him to remain injury free

We seem to have no strategy whatsoever.
The Outsider Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Bennett definitely had the wood on him yesterday. But in a bowler versus batsman contest, the bowler has an initial advantage. But Kohli is good enough to redress the balance soon.
rkt.india Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Bennett hit the very good length outside off stump at a good pace. Akalpit
